Question

How do you get to Telluride?

Answer

Go to our travel section for full details!

Question

Do I need to worry about altitude sickness?

Answer

Telluride is located at an elevation of 8,750 ft (2667 m), with the ceremony location even higher at 10,540 ft. It is likely that you will notice the effects of the altitude immediately. This includes shortness of breath, quickened pulse, and light-headedness. You might also experience a touch of nausea or insomnia and bloating/cramping. In general it may take a couple of days to get acclimated. Because of this we strongly suggest you arrive a few days early to give yourself time to adjust. To cope with the altitude it is important to remain well hydrated and take it easy on the caffeinated and alcoholic beverages. Some have reported that taking aspirin (blood thinner) helps suppress the maladies of altitude sickness, and melatonin beats the insomnia. If you are feeling really ill or uncomfortable, don't hesitate to call the Telluride Medical Center at 970-728-3848.

Question

I have Altitude Sickness-- what do I do?

Answer

Don't panic, this is totally normal. Here are a few things that can help: The local shops in Telluride sell cans of 90% oxygen, which reportedly helps ease the discomfort of being at high altitude. If you want to buy it in advance check out Oxygen Plus: https://www.oxygenplus.com There are also supplements that supposedly combat the effects of Altitude: Altitude Adjustment: http://www.altitude-adjustment.com/ and Acli-Mate: https://acli-mate.com/ Are two brands we saw in town. For both they suggest you start using them a few days prior to reaching the higher elevation. If you have nausea, or bloating or a headache you can purchase supplies at both Sunshine Pharmacy and Clark's Market in town on the Telluride side. Go to our things to do page for more info.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Kids are welcome to the ceremony. Just keep in mind that there will be a gondola ride and a short walk to the ceremony site. For the reception-- due to the venue layout and intimate, formal nature of the dinner portion of the wedding reception, we suggest that you leave the littlest guests (6 yrs and under) at home. There are a handful of services that offer childcare in Telluride and we can also help put guests in touch who are interested in linking up on childcare services--just let us know. The following childcare services have been recommended to us: Telluride Sitters Lindsey Dickinson 970.708.0170 www.TellurideSitters.com Annies Nannies Holli S. 970.728.2991 hollis@annies-nannies.com

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Please let us know if you have a serious allergy or dietary restrictions that we should be aware of and we will do everything possible to make special arrangements in advance.

Question

Where Should I Stay?

Answer

Check out our travel page on this site for all our hotel and house rental suggestions.

Question

What should I wear to the Wedding?

Answer

The dress code is formal attire. Men should wear: A formal suit and tie. ------------------------------ Women should wear: A long evening dress, dressy suit or formal cocktail-length dress. ------------------------------ Please keep in mind that you will be walking on soil and grass to the ceremony site and plan footwear accordingly. For women who want to wear heels we suggest "heels above" or "soulmates" to protect your spikes from sinking into the ground. https://thesolemates.com/ http://www.heelsabove.com/

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Due to how small and walkabie Telluride is and because the ceremony location is only accessible by gondola we have not hired shuttles for the wedding. If you are staying on the Telluride side at the Hotel Columbia you are directly across the street from the gondola station. Dunton Townhouse and the New Sheridan Hotel are a quick 5 minute walk away. The Telluride Hotel is about a 10 minute walk. If you are staying at the Mountain Lodge, there are two gondola stations both a very short walking distance from Peaks Resort and Mountain Lodge Hotel.

Question

How much does the gondola cost and when does it run?

Answer

Telluride has the only FREE gondola public transportation system of its kind in North America, connecting the historic town of Telluride with the resort town of Mountain Village. It operates from 7AM to midnight in season.
