In 2017, Ximena, had decided to return to her roots in Monterrey. Léo had shaken things up by moving there for his exchange program. On September 8, 2017, our paths hilariously collided at a birthday party, which was, of course, a calm and tame evening… at least that’s the version we tell the family. What began as a one-year love adventure soon turned into a tearful farewell and a grueling year of long-distance love. But love, much like Léo, is persistent. Ever the adventurer (or just a bit reckless?), he decided to come back to México and took his first job. It was off the books and paid peanuts, but hey, love is priceless! First challenge complete. Next, we set our sights higher and decided to settle in France. Just when we thought life might calm down a little… the pandemic hit. With just 24 hours to spare, Ximena managed to catch her flight to Paris before the borders closed. Second challenge narrowly avoided – thanks, universe! For Ximena, the goal was to get accepted into a fashion school – our third challenge. She made it! While Léo spent his days in the thrilling world of shampoo, Ximena was ready to start her fashion studies. After the Master’s program, Ximena had to find a job to stay in France, and she did! Fourth challenge: check! Fast forward to June 2023, and Léo popped the question, asking her if she wanted to spend forever with him. On December 16, 2023, we legally tied the knot. But then, the prefecture decided to throw in a twist and denied Ximena’s visa application. So, we brought out the big guns and went to court with a lawyer to fight for it. After months of suspense worthy of a soap opera, she finally got her visa!. Yes, miracles do happen! Seven years of adventures, challenges, laughter (and a few nervous breakdowns) later, we’re still here. At this point, you could say our union is almost a miracle – or at least a full-blown saga! All these efforts and sacrifices are our definition of love, which only grows stronger with each year. Now, we are beyond excited to share this next chapter with you and celebrate our spiritual union and party with all of you until sunrise on November 8, 2025 in Merida!
