Lauren and Zachey were in the same class at Tufts University but did not meet until their mutual friend, Rachel Shapiro, invited them over for a Rosh Hashanah dinner five years later. Zachey recalls spotting Lauren, who was holding a wine glass that was the size of her head. The two spent the night chatting about their similarities, and Lauren strategically offered Zachey a ride home at the end of the night to get some alone time. When they arrived at Zachey's apartment, Zachey asked, "So, should I take your number or do you want mine?" Zachey said goodbye, leaving behind a Tupperware of leftover brisket from dinner on the passenger seat of the car. A few hours later, Zachey texted: "I think I left my brisket in your car." Lauren and Zachey have been together ever since.

It was a cold Monday morning in January. Lauren and Zachey were driving from New York to North Carolina, where Lauren had one more semester of graduate school. Lauren anticipated a long day in the car with a stop in Washington, D.C. for lunch with her friend, Mary Beech. Unbeknownst to Lauren, Zachey had planned a surprise detour. As they approached D.C., Lauren, fooled by Mary's stealthy guise, grabbed the phone to enter a lunch spot into the GPS. Zachey then told Lauren, "we are not going to D.C." As he began to drive West, Lauren quickly went into 'detective' mode. "Are we going to an airport? Are you kidnapping me?" Lauren continued to guess where they were going until the couple arrived at a resort in scenic Middleburg, Virginia. Once they arrived, Zachey led Lauren to one of the gardens on the property and asked for her hand in marriage.

Zachey and Lauren have spent many summer weekends on Cape Cod and they are excited to share this special place with friends and family. The weekend will be packed with fun events, starting with a Welcome Reception on Friday evening and ending with a Farewell Brunch on Sunday morning. They hope that over the course of the weekend, their family and friends will get to know each other while enjoying the celebration.
