It all started in high school… kind of. Ashley and Hunter didn’t exactly hit it off back then — they didn’t butt heads, but let’s just say they weren’t fans of each other either. They shared a few classes (which they later discovered: Hunter took them for the trips, Ashley for the college credits), but the most memorable moment was in a Sonic parking lot. Ashley was campaigning for student body president when Hunter got her to roll down her manual window… just to tell her to vote for the other candidate. She was so embarrassed, she left without even ordering. Fast forward a few years — Ashley’s finishing college at Eastern Oregon when Hunter randomly starts Snapchatting her. She figured he was just messing around (typical), but he didn’t give up… even from across the country. From goofy work videos with his friend Justin to nightly FaceTimes and constant texts, it didn’t take long for something real to spark. Ashley moved back to Pueblo in July 2023, they hung out the next day, went on their first official date on July 7th, and made it official that same night. Within two weeks, they decided to move in together. By May 2024, they had their first home. Then came Maggie — their dog and first “baby” — after a spontaneous bet during a UFC fight just before their one-year anniversary. And on November 2, 2024, Hunter popped the question. He was nervous (and bad at hiding it), throwing Ashley off with confusing outfit suggestions and blasting Zach Bryan the whole drive. They stopped by the water near the Riverwalk “to take leaf photos,” and while Ashley was looking at the view, Hunter dropped to one knee. When she turned around, everything clicked — and just when the happy tears hit, she heard Madi (her Maid of Honor and secret photographer) cheering from across the river.
