Brazilian Visa for US Travelers

U.S. passport holders are required to obtain a visa prior to traveling to Brazil. We encourage you to apply well in advance, as processing times may vary. The process of applying for the Brazilian e-visa is fairly simple and quick, once your e-visa is approved, you’ll receive an email and it is essential that you obtain a physical copy in order to board your flight to Brazil. Ideally, we recommend applying for your visa as soon as possible. Once issued, Brazilian tourist visas for U.S. passport holders are valid for ten years, so there is no concern about applying well in advance of your travel dates. Please also ensure that your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your intended travel dates. Aeroporto Santos Damond - SDU or Aeroporto Internacional Tom Jobim - GIG

The main international airport in Rio de Janeiro is Rio de Janeiro–Galeão International Airport (GIG), where most international flights arrive. The other option is SDU- a smaller airport in Rio that is also very close to the main touristic areas. You may find convenient routes connecting through cities such as Miami, New York, Atlanta, or São Paulo. There are also direct routes available from JFK, Miami, etc..
