YMCA of the Rockies
The venue for our wedding has A LOT of things to do! Many activities are free and included with a lodging reservation, some activities have additional fees. Guests staying at YMCA of the Rockies will receive a free activity wristband included in the price of their lodging. Some activities do have additional fees. Day passes for visitors not staying in YMCA lodging can be purchased for $25 for adults, $10 for children 6-12, and children 5 and under are free. The Day Pass can be purchased at the Sweet Memorial Program Building or the Administration Building.
Stanley Hotel - The Shining
THE STANLEY HOTEL IN ESTES Park, Colorado, is on the National Register of Historic Places and has hosted numerous celebrities since opening in 1909, but it remains most famous as the hotel where Stephen King stayed when he was inspired to pen “The Shining,” a classic 1977 horror novel about a recovering alcoholic father and his clairvoyant son. The Stanley, which many believe is legitimately haunted by benign spirits, embraces the association, playing the uncut R-rated version of the first film adaptation on a continuous 24-hour loop in all guest rooms. www.atlasobscura.com But wait there is also a world-class whiskey bar! Rocky Mountain National Park
UPDATED: Driving into the park requires reservations! Passes if available are found here https://www.recreation.gov/timed-entry/10086910 Rocky Mountain National Park in northern Colorado spans the Continental Divide and encompasses protected mountains, forests and alpine tundra. It's known for the Trail Ridge Road and the Old Fall River Road, drives that pass aspen trees and rivers. The Keyhole Route, a climb crossing vertical rock faces, leads up Longs Peak, the park’s tallest mountain. A trail surrounding Bear Lake offers views of the peaks. ― Google There is an entrance fee, although you could also walk to the park boundary from the wedding venue, although you would have to avoid being seen by a park ranger...
Trail Ridge Road - HIGHEST road in CO!
Trail Ridge Road is the name for a stretch of U.S. Highway 34 that traverses Rocky Mountain National Park from Estes Park, Colorado in the east to Grand Lake, Colorado in the west. The road is also known as Trail Ridge Road/Beaver Meadow National Scenic Byway. Trail Ridge Road is closed during the winter, and often remains closed until late spring or early summer depending on the snowpack. The Trail Ridge Road is the highest paved through road in Colorado and it is also the highest paved road in Colorado that crosses the continental divide (Cottonwood Pass at 12,126 feet is the second highest, and Colorado State Highway 82 at 12,095 feet going through Independence Pass is the third highest). www.wikipedia.com This is truly one of the all-time great highways in the world! The Baldpate Inn - World's Largest Key Collection?
IN THE MIDDLE OF THE Rocky Mountains it may seem like you couldn’t be farther away from London, Frankenstein’s Castle, or Nazi Germany. But at the historic Baldpate Inn in Estes Park, Colorado, all three of these places are represented—in the form of keys. The Baldpate Inn is home to the world’s largest collection of keys. With a total of 20,000 keys, there are three keys for every resident of Estes Park. Organized categorically by state, the collection is hung on the hotel’s ceiling and walls and has been receiving donations since the end of World War II. The idea to put a key collection in the Baldpate Inn actually stemmed from The Seven Keys to Baldpate, a fictional book written in 1913 about a man who visits the then-fictional Baldpate Inn to find some peace and seclusion. However, unbeknownst to this man, six other characters also have a key, and they promptly open the door of the inn and distract him. www.atlasobscura.com

Odell Brewing Company
"Doug, Wynne and Corkie Odell started their brewing odyssey in 1989 in a converted 1915 grain elevator located on the outskirts of downtown Fort Collins. Odell's was just the second microbrewery to open in Colorado. No one knew what "craft beer" was in those early days of the industry and we had to educate our first customers on what exactly it was we were trying to sell them. Not home brew, or worse, bathtub brew, but small batch, hand-crafted, commercially brewed distinctive beers. Our success was immediate." A hometown favorite that is one of the best breweries around. It is so good that Landis brought Ann here when she met his dad Michael and groomsman Aaron!
