We met at the 2017 Fundamentals - the training for all newly-hired permanent park rangers. Sure we were both multi-year veterans of the national parks, but a free two week trip to the Grand Canyon seemed like a great opportunity! We were inadvertently paired together for camping at the bottom of the canyon. Ann brought a tent down, and I packed a stove. What started out as just two colleagues hiking the same direction grew over the months into something more. Fast forward to June 3, 2020 when Ann made Landis's year by saying "YES" to his surprise proposal on top of the cliffs of Capitol Reef National Park! The vaccine is here, so help us celebrate our lives together at a party on top of the Rocky Mountains in September!
This is so strange to write, but we are asking every adult to be vaccinated if you attend our wedding in person. We have no desire to debate politics or science on our wedding website, but we are planning to have (unvaccinated) children present. So for their sake we want to have the safest environment possible. For those who do not want to be vaccinated we will have a Zoom option for remotely participating in the wedding ceremony. This is all dependent on what the future holds with virus mutations, vaccine roll out, etc. Basically all the stuff that has made the past year so stressful. Here is to praying for a better 2021 where we can all celebrate together!
