On November 20th, 2024, Matt popped the question during their first solo trip together, traveling across the UK for two weeks. The UK trip began on November 15th, so you can imagine how nervous Matt was in the days leading up to the proposal. 

How did he do it, you might ask? Well, months earlier, Matt had suggested hiring a photographer in Edinburgh (Sam's favorite city) to capture some pictures of the two of them since they'd only had selfies and solo shots up until that point. Sam was a bit suspicious but thought it was a good idea.

Fast forward to the morning of the proposal—Matt told Sam that the photographer was running 10 minutes late but suggested they go ahead and scout out the location. Little did Sam know, the photographer wasn't late at all and was actually hiding around the corner, ready to capture the moment as it unfolded.

And of course, Sam said yes!
