It is not recommended to rent a car if planning on staying within the Tricity area - Gdansk, Sopot and Gdynia. Freenow and Uber rides are inexpensive and readily available. If planning to traveling outside of the Tricity area, an international drivers permit is required. This can be obtained by visiting a AAA branch or by mail. Go to AAA.com for more information. There is a $20 permit fee.

Many businesses also use WhatsApp for communication as well.
