Peter and Claire have known each other for more than half of their lives (about 18 years!). They both grew up in the Milwaukee area, attending different private grade schools before meeting as freshmen at Franklin High School. Peter always had a crush on Claire — and while they did share a first kiss freshman year, they didn’t seriously pursue anything at the time. Fast forward to Christmas break in 2015, when fate brought them back together at their friend Trevor Kennedy’s holiday party in Franklin. Claire recalls spotting Peter from across the room wearing his unforgettable Gucci Mane Christmas sweater (that he borrowed from his brother Patrick) he wore that night. Much to his surprise, Claire approached him and complimented the look — she was also a big Gucci Mane fan, after all. They took a photo together that night and ended up talking for hours. Despite the freezing 20-degree weather and Claire’s house being over a mile away, Peter insisted on walking her home. That small, thoughtful gesture stuck with Claire — it showed just how kind, caring, and gentlemanly he really was. They spent their first New Year’s Eve together that year in Madison doing a house crawl, and while they stayed in touch afterward, things remained casual at first. Then came Valentine’s Day — a turning point. Claire, single and buried in grad school at Marquette, was surprised when her friends texted her at the library telling her she had a package waiting at home. Peter had mailed her a bouquet of flowers with a heartfelt note — one she still has to this day. 💌 From that moment on, Claire began to see Peter in a new light. While wrapping up school, she would often visit her best friend Michelle in Madison — and always made time to see Peter, too. That fall, they officially began dating… and the rest is history. Thank goodness for that Gucci Mane sweater.
