We met while both living in Los Angeles in January, 2019. Kirsty was working towards her PhD in Epidemiology at UCLA and Eli was working at UCLA Health. Even though we spent our days in offices just a 10 minute walk across campus, we never ran into each other at UCLA. Instead, we met the old fashioned way...on Hinge! Our first date was at Harlowe, a bar in West Hollywood that was 0.2 miles from Kirsty's apartment. Eli will never let Kirsty live down the fact that she drove there (she was running late, okay!?). From that first meeting, we both had the feeling that this was something special. Fast forward 2.5 years later -- including a year of coast-to-coast long-distance, living with Kirsty's mom for 8 weeks at the beginning of the pandemic, lockdown in a 500sqft apartment in Brooklyn, adopting a puppy, and moving to Nashville, TN -- and our intuition that this was something special turned out to be true! We feel incredibly fortunate to have found our other half and to experience life's adventures together. Onward!
