🛩 San Jose International Airport (Norman Y. Mineta)
Flying into San Jose Int. (SJC) is the closest international airport to Monterey, CA and is the best option. It is roughly a 1.5hr drive to Monterey. *Typically, flights from New Orleans will have connections via one of the international airports in Texas, which isn’t awesome, but at least you are gaining 2hrs! 😀

🛩 Alternative Airports
Monterey Regional Airport is (MRY) is a 7min drive to the venue and nearby hotels. The flights may be more expensive and limited due to it only being a regional airport. Other options (+45minutes pending traffic) include San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Oakland International Airport (OAK). These are much larger airports and are further away but may have more options for flights.

🏡 AirB&B + VRBO
There are so many alternatives to the two hotels close to the venue on AirB&B as well as through VRBO. Search in Monterey, California and perhaps also Pacific Grove (a cute beach town bordering Monterey and only a few minutes drive to the venue). Carmel is a littler further out, (and the Carmel Valley is included) but if you don’t mind a longer drive, there may also be options here as well. Feel free to send any rentals you are considering to Kendra if you need help figuring out how far it is from the events.

🌤 Weather In California ☀️
While we have a reputation of always being 75 and sunny, that isn't the case when the sun goes down, or in many coastal areas. Typical Monterey (California Coast) mornings can be chilly (60s with a breeze coming off the rarely warm pacific ocean) and when the sun dips beyond that sparkling horizon, get yo jackets ready! Also, as we are often reminded when our Louisiana family comes to visit, hills are common and roads can be curvier than what you may be used to. If you plan to walk a lot, the local area isn't very hilly but just food for thought when choosing footwear and such for all the activities.
