The Proposal
In 2016, after meeting at Camp Chingachgook we went on our first date to the Adirondack Balloon Festival. Spencer quickly learned just how significant this event is to me.
Skip to 2019: we’re at the park for the annual balloon fest. Spencer chats up a pilot and next thing I know we’re helping to prep the balloon for their take off! Filled with childish glee, we help the crew inflate their balloon. At the last minute the pilot looks at us and says, “we’ve got no one to fly with us today, what do you say?” Before I could think twice I’m diving into the basket, dragging Spencer in with me! Was my lifelong dream REALLY about to come true? In a blur our family and friends became the size of ants as we soared above the town. An hour later we landed, surrounded again by family and friends who had followed below. As the crew popped champagne for a traditional toast, Spencer had one more surprise for me! On one knee, my best friend asked me to spend the rest of my life with him and I said yes!
