Officiant
Our wedding wouldn't be happening if it weren't for Kristen's match-making prowess! Kristen introduced Kelli and Breanne at a lively Woodlawn house party back in 2017. Kristen and Breanne share a professional history, having worked in the Oncology unit at St. Luke’s for several years. She and Brea quickly bonded when they met over their appreciation of music, good beer, and the highs and lows of their working worlds. Kristen was also housemates with Kelli (and Whitney) for four unforgettable years in the lively Woodlawn house. The memories made at Woodlawn and the friendship that was cultivated there will live on forever! Kel and Brea love Kristen for her authenticity, her huge heart, and her easy energy. Kristen leaves people she interacts with feeling light and grounded, she is quite literally a “salt of the earth” kinda human. Plus, she is incredibly fun to be around!

They quickly found refuge in each other being the only two girl cousins with eight boys on their Mom’s side of the family. Their summer trips to Tahoe with the whole family hold the most precious memories that they will remember for a lifetime. Brea adores Jen for being one of the most intentional, loyal, and vibrant humans that she has ever known. Jen’s heart is larger than life- she relentlessly shows up for the people that she loves. Tim is Brea’s middle brother. Brea remembers her parents telling her that she was going to have a baby brother when they got pregnant with Tim. Little did she know that a baby brother would be the greatest gift she would ever receive! She loved growing up playing in the dirt with Tonka trucks, riding skateboards, and building forts with Tim. Brea adores Tim for his quick whit, his logic, his HUGE heart, and unwavering loyalty. Tim’s dry humor makes Brea laugh right from the bottom of her belly. She is humbled in the way Tim always offers a perspective that makes her think- he expands Brea and helps her see the world from a different point of view! Brea cherishes every moment she spends with Tim. She just loves his guts and has been overjoyed watching him find love in Brea’s sister-in-law, Erin.

Adam is the youngest brother of the Miko siblings, six years younger than Brea. Adam’s colorful spirit added so much vibrancy to Tim and Brea’s lives when he was born! Adam was the missing puzzle piece that his older siblings never knew they needed. Brea adores Adam for his contagious sense of adventure, his kind heart and thoughtfulness, his sentiment, and his spontaneity. When Brea and Adam spend time together, they are sure to giggle nonstop and sing random songs to the dog at the top of their lungs. Adam and Brea can do everything and nothing together, and they have the best time ever. Brea also credits Adam for introducing her to one of her all time favorite bands, The 1975. Adam makes Brea feel grounded and at home whenever they spend time together. Brea has found so much joy watching Adam grow into a beautiful human and adventure all over the world.
Maid of Honor
Jess, Kelli's older sister, deserves a thank you for initiating this incredible Boise adventure. Having once called Idaho home, Jessica played a pivotal role by introducing Kelli to Boise in 2011. After graduating from Iowa State, Kelli found herself living in Jess's spare bedroom in Idaho within a week of her college graduation in Ames. In Kelli's core childhood memories, Jess is a central figure. Despite their five-year age gap preventing them from attending the same school simultaneously, the dynamics of home life provided countless opportunities for sisterly mischief. Kelli cherishes the memories of their youthful summers at home, annual Colorado road trips, and the shared responsibility of caring for their childhood dogs. Holding Jess in high regard, Kelli believes she has excelled in the older sister role. What touched Kelli the most, however, was opening up to Jess about her authenticity. Seated in Jess's living room, Kelli bared her soul, only to be met with immediate quick-wit as Jess casually remarked, "Well Kel, if you weren’t going to tell me … I was going to tell you!" Beyond her quick wit evident in any conversation, Jess possesses an uncanny ability to name the artist of any "oldies" song. Her knack for delivering well-timed one-liners is matched only by her deep and genuine care for animals—an admirable trait that resonates with everyone who knows her.

Laura holds a special place in Kelli's heart as a dear friend and life-long soul sister. Their paths crossed in 2008 when they became random roommates at the University of Northern Colorado, and since then, their bond has grown into an enduring connection. The decision to attend college outside of Iowa opened the door to a world of adventures, and Kelli attributes the transformative impact of that experience largely to Laura. Beyond the daily laughter they shared, they discovered in each other not just friends but a home away from home, finding solace and comfort in one another's presence. Their college years marked not only the formation of a deep friendship but also a period of mutual growth, fostering a sense of independence and individuality that laid the groundwork for the lives they continue to lead. Laura's love for others radiates, leaving an unmistakable imprint from the moment of connection. Kelli is deeply inspired by Laura's unwavering sense of self, profound integrity, and perspective on embracing an authentic and true-to-you kind of life.
