Things To Do

Here are some great spots to check out around Wilmington. Gaston and Kaylie love dinner date nights around town, and the quaint feel of the city.

Beer Barrio

34 North Front Street, Wilmington, NC 28401

One of their favorite taco places! The owners are actually from Indiana, and went to Lawrence Central. For those of you who don't know, that was Kaylie's rival high school.

Flytrap Brewing

319 Walnut Street, Wilmington, NC 28401

A great brewery to sit outside, and enjoy a drink, and possibly catch a delicious food truck and live music. Fun Fact: Venus flytraps (Dionaea muscipula) are native to the coastal plains and sandhills of North and South Carolina, and only grow naturally within a 75-mile radius of Wilmington, North Carolina

The Copper Penny

109 Chestnut Street, Wilmington, NC 28401

If you love sweet potato fries, this is where you want to go. This restaurant has one of Gaston's favorite sandwiches, and he always gets those sweet potato fries. Pretty neat it was featured on Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.

Quanto Basta: Italian Eatery & Wine Bar

107 North 2nd Street, Wilmington, NC 28401

Maybe Gaston and Kaylie are biased, being that this is where they had their first date, but this is one of the best Italian restaurants.

Floriana Wilmington

2 Market Street, Wilmington, NC 28401

Talk about a romantic dinner date night! They have balcony's for two that over look the Cape Fear River (they're first come, first serve). Gaston and Kaylie celebrated their 1st anniversary here.

Battleship North Carolina

1 Battleship Road Northeast, Wilmington, NC 28401

If you're a history buff, the battleship is a cool family friendly exploration throughout the ship. Self-guided, and make sure to wear comfy sneakers. It's a big ship!

Satellite Bar and Lounge

120 Greenfield Street, Wilmington, NC 28401

One of Kaylie and Gaston's favorite spots for a monthly dance social. This is where that brush of hand got them wondering if there was more there for the two of them.

Kilwins Ice Cream - Chocolate - Fudge

16 Market Street, Wilmington, NC 28401

This may be a place you're familiar with, but this one is located in the hub of downtown Wilmington. Maybe it's the atmosphere that makes it better than the rest, but try for yourself - grab an ice cream cone and then walk down to to the river to enjoy the view with the treat!

The Ivy Cottage

3030 Market Street, Wilmington, NC 28403

If you're a thrifter or antiquer - this is it, this is the spot. Multiple buildings, right next to each other, that guarantee you will find what you're looking for, or what you didnt know you needed and now want. One of Kaylie's favorite spots.

Genki Japanese & Sushi Restaurant of Wilmington NC

4724 New Centre Drive, Wilmington, NC 28405

THE BEST SUSHI. Limited hours so check their website to make a plan. Lunch hours are first come first serve, and recommend a reservation for dinner.
