Travel

We recommend flying in to either the Florence or Rome airports if you are booking your trip with the wedding as the first stop. Rome is an easy and short train ride to Florence, so we suggest picking the one with the best overall fare/trip time! Feel free to reach out to us for any travel tips, or if you need a travel planner to assist you in making a full adventure out of our celebration! Please see travel options and other relevant travel information below.

Flight

Amerigo Vespucci Airport

This is the Firenze (Florence) city airport. This airport will be the easiest access to the venue as it is in the same city. There is a shuttle from the airport to the city venter, which is linked below.

Train

Florence Airport Train

There is a shuttle tram that runs from the airport to the center of Firenze. This new tram, the T2, runs from the airport to the Unita stop close to the central station. The tram runs every five to ten minutes and a ticket costs € 1.50 per person. You can also choose to take the bus from Volainbus to the center. This runs every half hour from the airport to near the Santa Maria Novella station. The journey takes twenty minutes. The price is € 6 per person for a single trip.

Flight

Leonardo da Vinci International Airport

This is the Rome airport. Depending on the time of year, flights can be more affordable to this airport with more direct options. The train to Florence is quick, easy, and very beautiful!

Travel Note

Coming straight from the airport to the wedding area, or your hotel?

Florence is not much of an "uber/lyft" city, but you can easily take a taxi, which has a flat rate for transport to a hotel in the center. A taxi ride costs between 22 € (day) and 25 € (evening) and € 1 extra for each piece of luggage. If you want to book a reliable taxi without stress, you can book it before your trip. The taxi driver will then pick you up from the airport. You can also try Welcome Pickups, where a taxi driver will meet you at Florence airport with a name sign. With this you are sure of an available taxi and the price will hardly differ from a normal taxi. Simply check your fare at Welcome Pickups.

Travel Note

Flight Savings!

We recommend using a flight tracking app like hopper, or sky scanner to assist you in getting the best flight options!

Travel Note

Coming from somewhere else in Europe?

If coming from somewhere else in Europe, try the Pisa airport (Galileo Galilei)! It’s known to have very affordable domestic flight options, and has a quick train to Florence. Take a 5 minute Pisa mover shuttle from the airport to Pisa Centrale station, followed by a 1 hour Trenitalia Regional train to Florence. The train usually costs about €10-€15!
