Drumtochty Castle

All guests have the option to stay on the Drumtochty Castle grounds from Tuesday August 4th to Thursday August 6th. The castle sleeps 110 guests first come, first served and we will assist in arranging the overflow to nearby towns that have hotels/airbnb. Rather than booking through the castle, we will work with our guests to assign rooms once everyone has RSVPed. Room rates range based on room size and bedrooms. The entire castle estate (including wings, stables, and lodges) is reserved exclusively for guests, offering a variety of accommodation types such as single bedrooms, suites, and apartments.

Flight

Flight Options

Glasgow International Airport - 2.5 hours Southwest of Drumtochty Castle. The groom is from Glasgow, and this will serve as the bride and groom's main hub. Currently there are no direct flights from NYC/NJ airports, but United will start operating direct flights in May 2026. Edinburgh International Airport - 2 hours South of Drumtochty Castle. An easier option with direct flights from NYC/NJ. Just be aware, the Fringe Festival is taking place in Edinburgh from August 7th-31st which will make the city VERY crowded and busy. We recommend exploring Edinburgh prior to the wedding. Aberdeen International Airport - 30 minutes Northeast of Drumtochty Castle. Another option which gets you closer to the venue. There are no direct flights from NYC/NJ.

Rental Car

Hertz, Enterprise, Eurocar , Sixt (and many others) are available at most airports. For U.S. drivers, your U.S. license is all that is needed to drive in Scotland. *It is recommended that U.S. drivers pickup their rental cars from an airport rather than a city location, as airports are much easier to navigate out from. City locations tend to have smaller narrow streets, quick turns, and many more roundabouts that make it difficult for a first time left-side. If you plan to road trip the Scottish countryside after the wedding festivities, we suggest a car rental. Parking is available on-site on the castle. Once you arrive to the castle, you will not need transportation for the 2 days.

Shuttle from Glasgow to Drumtochty

Bus to/from Drumtochty Castle from Glasgow. We will provide timed round-trip group transportation for all interested guests each way dependent on how many guests choose this travel route. Following formal invitations and RSVP's numbers will be gathered and transportation will be booked accordingly. Buses will leave from Glasgow city centre in front of The Z Hotel at 1pm on Tuesday and depart from Drumtochty Castle at noon on Thursday.

Train

ScotRail

ScotRail is Scotland's national passenger train operator. It's a great and cost-effective travel option between major cities. Stonehaven Station is the destination station to get to Drumtochty Castle. The origin station in Glasgow is Queen Street (~2.5 hours) or in Edinburgh is Waverly Station (~2.15 hours). From Stonehaven, Drumtochty Castle is a quick 15 minutes drive.
