Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes, there will be an open canoe! Aka Zach and Katri's beer fridge will be available to you (plus wine, cider, seltzers, and NA options).

Is the wedding and reception outside?

Answer

Yes and would you expect anything else from us? The wedding will occur outside on the shores of Lake Superior and the reception will be right next door in the event tent.

What does the weather look like in the Upper Peninsula in September?

Answer

Great question - could be 75 and sunny but it also could be snowing and cold. It's the Midwest next to Lake Superior so be ready for anything

What is the dress code?

Answer

Camper formal aka the only suit you need is your bathing suit. What does camper formal mean? Think I'm going for a hike but I have to stop at a wedding first. Examples: flowy dresses, Chacos, Patagonia Better Sweaters, rompers, Blundstones, vests, corduroy, etc. You're going to be outside all day with us!

Can I bring a guest/date/child?

We unfortunately cannot accommodate additional guests due to limited capacity. We can only allow the amount of people listed on your invitation.

Is the Wedding Ceremony and Reception at the same place?

Answer

Yes! Everything will be on-site at North Shore Cottages.

How do I get to the venue?

Answer

1. Continue North from Houghton/ Hancock on US 41 2. Turn left at first and only traffic light. Dollar General and Burger King will be on your left. 3. Continue North on 6th Street extension as it turns into 6th St. in downtown Historic Village of Calumet. 4. Turn left at Pine St. (M-203) and continue a little more than 0.5 miles. Harter's Party Store will be directly across the street as you turn left. 5. Turn right on Tamarack Waterworks Rd. (NOT N. Tamarack Rd) 6. Continue to the left until you reach the shore. You will pass the Calumet Brewery ruins on your left as you continue around and down the road towards the lake. (If road becomes gravel you went straight instead of left.) You'll know you arrived when you see signs for the wedding and a big tent!
