Why Idaho?

Answer

Great question! It started nearly 30 years ago, with Nick's parents living in Sun Valley for a few years! Nick's grandparents live half the year in Sun Valley, and Nick has been visiting his whole life. Katie joined the annual family ski trip 5 years ago and fell in love with the mountains upon arrival and hopes you do too! It was a no brainer for both Katie and Nick to get married in Sun Valley.

What do I wear?

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SUN VALLEY AND KETCHUM?

Answer

You can use either town's name somewhat interchangeably! Ketchum is the 'downtown' area, while Sun Valley is the resort itself (and the name that more people know).

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

Not necessarily! Your hotel may provide a shuttle from the airport and Mountain Rides provides a free shuttle at certain times of the day. If you’re staying in Ketchum, you can walk everywhere, and we’ll provide transportation for wedding-related events! However, we suggest a rental car if you’re interested in exploring the area and want to go hiking, fishing, golfing, etc.

What Will The Weather Be Like?

Mid September in Sun Valley is gorgeous but can get chilly at night. Fingers crossed for sunny warm weather with daytime temps in the high 70s. Expect cooler weather at night with temperatures in the 40s. We recommend bringing a light jacket for later in the night.

SURELY I CAN FIND AN UBER OR TAXI LATE NIGHT?

Answer

We wish! But unfortunately, they are truly never available, so don't count on anything but your own two feet after 11pm! We will provide shuttle buses to and from the venue from town.

CAN WE COME TO SUN VALLEY EARLY (OR STAY LATE)?

Answer

Yes, of course!! There is so much to do in the area -- we'd like nothing more than to share Sun Valley with you. We have lots of recommendations for an extended itinerary, just reach out!
