Question

How do I get to Panzano in Chianti?

Answer

Tuscany is located between Rome and Florence, and either city works well as a travel hub. Rome (FCO) typically offers more frequent, direct, and often more affordable flights, though it’s about a 3-hour drive to Panzano. Florence (FLR) is closer — less than one hour by car to Panzano — but flights may be more limited. Europe’s train system is excellent, so another great option is to fly into Rome, take a high-speed train to Florence (about 1 hour), then rent a car and drive south to Panzano. Familiar rental car companies like Enterprise and Avis operate in Italy, as do European brands such as Sixt. Rental agencies can help navigate city driving rules, including restricted traffic zones. Once outside the cities, the roads become rural, winding, and incredibly scenic. Buses run on regular, dependable schedules. If you intend to use a Taxi, do your research for the pre-negotiated rates (e.g. the price from the train station to airport should be the same no matter the taxi driver). To ensure your safety, head to the "taxi ring" where the licensed taxi drivers will be waiting to take tourists to their destinations, in accordance with these pre-negotiated rates. Trains are excellent for longer trips. If you plan to explore outside Tuscany (Rome, Florence, Verona), consider a Eurail train pass. For the adventurous travelers, public transportation bus options are also available. If you’d like more details (or personal stories), just let us know — we’re happy to help. * Renting a car is the easiest way to explore * Roads are scenic but narrow—take it slow and enjoy * Cars are smaller than in the U.S.; keep this in mind for group rentals * Look for signs marked “Parcheggio” (parking) * Be mindful of ZTL zones (restricted traffic areas) in towns—don’t enter unless permitted

Question

How do I get to the wedding events?

Answer

The majority of the wedding events will be held at La Pensione di Vignamaggio (see "Accommodations" tab for additional details). There is parking adjacent to the hotel (La Pensione) property, for anyone staying off premise. The reception dinner will take place at Il Vescovino Ristorante, located a short walk from the hotel. We’ll arrange transportation for guests with mobility concerns. If you’re comfortable with the walk, you’re invited to stroll up and enjoy the views along the way.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Our celebration will move from daytime into evening, so we encourage semi-formal/cocktail attire—something comfortable for the day and festive enough for the evening. Keep the July Tuscany heat in mind! Think flowing floral dresses (tea or floor-length), dressy jumpsuits or matching sets, and similar polished looks. For those who prefer pants, tailored trousers with a blouse, button-down, or stylish top work beautifully. A lightweight jacket or blazer is recommended, but ties are optional. Most importantly, wear what makes you feel comfortable and confident. We have loved ones traveling from near and far, and your presence is what matters most—whether you dress up or keep it simple.

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception dinner will be held outdoors. July in Tuscany is beautiful (and warm!), so please dress with the weather in mind.

Question

Is there a Wedding party?

Answer

We’ve chosen to skip the traditional wedding party. There are no official roles or attire to worry about—just good company, good wine, and a weekend together in Tuscany. You’re the people we want most around us, and that’s all that matters.

Question

Can I bring a plus-one?

Answer

Invitations will indicate everyone who is invited. If your invitation includes a guest, they are warmly welcomed.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes, we’d love to celebrate with them! We also completely understand if you prefer to arrange alternative childcare for the evening (or weekend).

Question

What if I have food allergies or dietary restrictions?

Answer

Please email us with any dietary needs at briankatie318@gmail.com, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you. Please note that we are planning to host the Welcome Dinner at Darrio Cecchini's Macelleria (think butcher shop turned restaurant). The food is served family style and the restaurant has indicated they are unable to accommodate deviations from the dedicated prix fixe menu.
