We have had so many wonderful experiences in New Orleans and couldn't imagine celebrating our marriage anywhere else. We're so excited for all of you to visit the city and we hope you fall in love with it as we have. People often have some ideas of what New Orleans is, but if you want to check out some of our favorite neighborhood spots, take a look at the Things To Do page. If you want other recommendations, we're always happy to send you an extensive list of places to eat :)
Casual attire is fine. Keep an eye on the forecast in the days leading up to the wedding as the ceremony will take place outdoors. Galoshes may come in handy if it's been raining that week! We don't want to jinx it, but the weather in March is often beautiful. Be prepared for warm days and cool nights (a light jacket should be fine in the evenings). Again, please check the weather often because it can get pretty soggy here.
We have a block of rooms reserved at hotels in the Garden District and the French Quarter (be sure to use the discount codes to get the special rate! See Travel page for more info). You're welcome to look around Airbnb or find another hotel, if you'd prefer. Check out the Things To Do page for a map of our favorite places - this could be a nice reference when searching for lodging (stay close to the food)! The wedding will take place in the Bywater neighborhood - We recommend keeping your Airbnb search on the riverside of St. Claude Avenue. Some of our other favorite neighborhoods are Audubon, Freret, and the Lower Garden District. We're more than happy to check an address/location of a rental you're considering -- just shoot either of us a text!
The Uber or Lyft apps are great for ride-sharing. The streetcar is fun, but requires patience - it's not always on time. Walking is also great!
Kids are welcome in New Orleans and at our wedding! Keep in mind that most bars are 21+ and very strict about it. On the other hand, you can bring a child of any age to a brewery. We have compiled a list of kid-friendly things to check out in New Orleans on the Things To Do page.
