We're so excited to celebrate our marriage with each of you! We met in New Orleans, promptly fell in love with the city, and thought our wedding would be the perfect excuse to show it off to our friends and family. We know that traveling all the way to NOLA can be tough, so if you can't make it, we understand! Hopefully we can celebrate with you at a later date :) Our ceremony will take place the Saturday after Mardi Gras, so if you want to make a whole thing of it and see the city at its finest (and smelliest...), come on! We'll be partyin' all week. Parades roll February 27th until March 5th (Fat Tuesday). The city is pretty quiet the rest of the week. Because most of you are out-of-town guests, we've tried to include plenty of information to get you ready for your trip to New Orleans. If you are still itching for recommendations or have any questions about neighborhoods, please feel free to reach out to us!
Kevin was the second person Kt met when she moved to New Orleans in 2012. He trained her in the lab and they quickly became good friends. Their first unofficial "date" involved blueberry mojitos (from St. Joe's), crawfish étouffée fries (from Dat Dog), and a midnight showing of The Shining (at the Prytania Theatre). Their New Orleans friends had already decided that Kt and Kevin were meant to be, but it took the magic of Mardi Gras for them to realize it. They were forced to spend the entire Mardi Gras weekend together - the parades make traveling in the city impossible! They didn't hate each other by the end of the 4-day weekend so they decided they'd stick together for a while.
Kt and Kevin planned their 2017 engagement day together. They spent the morning drinking coffee (from French Truck) and the afternoon eating delicious food and drinking the best daiquiris (from Bourrée) by the Mississippi River with their dog, Mike. After getting stuck in parade traffic - rookie mistake - but before their celebratory dinner at Restaurant R'evolution, they exchanged love letters in a French Quarter courtyard (The Bombay Club - they have a good happy hour). It was such a happy, love-filled day in the middle of a really tough semester of grad school. P.S. Photos (the good ones...you'll know) by Dark Roux Photography
