It just so happened that we worked a block away from each other downtown and yet had never crossed paths. But in 2017 the universe was rumbling and "bumbling" for us to meet. Our first meeting was a blind date at a local bar in between our offices. What we both thought was going to take an hour or so, ended up lasting for three hours. We just couldn't stop talking - it was like we had known each other for years. The next date we went to the Ferry Building farmer's market, then a picnic in the park, and ended with watching the Bruins game, of course. But what really sealed the deal was date #3. Nick had been talking about his famous eggplant parmesan. For the third date, we met for a quick coffee during work. As Nick walked up, he pulled out from behind his back, a small dish of his eggplant parmesan for Kat to try. Little did he know, that food is always the direct line, straight to her heart. What started as a 3-hour first date, turned into many more dates. Then that turned into our first trip, many more trips, our first home, over 3 years together, and now a lifetime ahead.
Nick had planned a date night for us. We got dressed up and walked through the park across the street. As we walked into the park, Nick said he saw something interesting on the fountain. Kat falls for everything so she was really leaning in, scrunching her face to focus and try to see this mysterious thing he found. When she finally turned around, he was down on one knee and he blurted out "willyoumarryme?" so fast she barely registered what he said. Then we went to our dinner reservation but when we arrived, 30 of our closest friends were waiting to surprise us! It was absolutely incredible. We celebrated the whole night all together and felt so loved. We can't wait to marry each other in front of our family and friends. We met here and fell in love here. And while we're East Coasters at heart, we hope to show you why we love California so much!
