Rachel Hrovat

Matron of Honor

Rachel and I met when we were 5 years old in Sunday School. Though her family moved around for the military, the Peterson's found their way back to Hampton Roads and we reconnected when she came to StoneBridge in the 4th grade. I forced her to be my best friend and 20 years later, she's still one of the most important people in my life. I've had the pleasure of watching her start her family with her husband Zach and sweet babies Grayson & Chloe, and I am thrilled that she'll be by Matron of Honor as Spenser and I start our marriage. If Rachel could have an endless supply of one food: "No question in my mind the truffle gnocchi from The List in Seattle!"

Nathan Burcak

Best Man

Brother, best friend, and now best man. I've known Nate his entire life and had the honor of being his best man last year. We haven't always seen eye to eye, and that is ok since we are eighteen months a part, but Nate has always been there for me and had my back. He has seen me at my highs and lows, and there is no one else I would want as my best man. I'm proud to call him my brother. If Nate could only listen to one album for the rest of his life, it would be John Mayer's "Where the Light Is".

Christine Nelson

Maid of Honor

Christine and I met when she joined our Studio at OTJ Architects. We bonded over a mutual love for all-black attire and dogs. When she left me for another firm, we stayed close friends and even became roommates who still liked each other even during a pandemic. Christine met Spenser at a mutual friend's party so she was able to give him the stamp of approval when he and I later matched on a dating app. Needless to say, she's an integral part of my life and my relationship with Spenser and I am so pleased she agreed to be my Maid of Honor. If Christine could have an endless supply of one food, it would be Buffalo Mac & Cheese.

Robbie Mitchell

Groomsman

Robbie and I first met playing one-on-one basketball in 7th grade PE. We quickly became friends and were able to play on the same middle school basketball team, then on the high school golf team. We have played golf probably a hundred times together and our match always seems to come down to the final hole. I had the honor of standing by his side seven years ago when he married his wife, Hilary, and honored to have him by my side on my wedding day. If Robbie could only listen to one album for the rest of his life, it would be Bon Iver's "22, A Million".

Amanda Burcak

Bridesmaid

Amanda and I are both the youngest siblings and only girls with two older brothers so we have many similar experiences from our childhood. When I started dating Spenser, I knew that she would be protective over her big brother and it would be crucial to earn her approval. Thankfully she has accepted me and I couldn't imagine marrying Spenser without her by my side! If Amanda could have an endless supply of one food, it would be BREAD!

Kyle Slack

Groomsman

Kyle and I met during recess in elementary school and became friends a few years later in middle school. We bonded over sports, as most middle school boys do, and the friendship grew from there. After college, we were roommates for three and a half years before Kyle moved in with his now-fiancée, Ari. I'm honored to have him by my side and look forward to returning the honor later this year at his wedding. Kyle's favorite summer memory is his annual beach week trip to the Outer Banks with extended family

Cara Hewitt

Bridesmaid

From High Point University freshman dorm friends, to Kappa Delta sisters, then DC city girls, & finally Alexandria neighbors, we've been blessed to have over a decade of memories together! Cara was responsible for getting me to Carlyle House for Spenser's proposal. Just one example of how she is permanently intertwined in some of my favorite moments! Cara's favorite summer memory: "Visiting my grandmother in Ireland!"

Nick Slogik

Groomsman

Kyle introduced me to Nick when we were looking for a third roommate for our Arlington townhouse. We quickly became friends while bonding over craft beer, sports, and the stock market. I had the honor of being a groomsman in Nick's wedding and look forward to seeing him become a Dad in the spring. If Nick could have his day (but it will never happen) it would be: "play 18 holes in the morning, spend the afternoon at the beach, then watch the Browns win the Super Bowl with a nice glass of bourbon".

Emily Langston

Bridesmaid

Emily and I met after both rushing Kappa Delta. Emily, Cara, and I were dubbed "The Triplets" by the older sisters who couldn't tell us apart. Thankfully, we happened to like each other and an instant friendship was born. Emily and I were roommates our Sophomore year and may have had a little too much fun together! They say you meet your best friends when you go to college, and Emily is a testament to that. I was fortunate to stand by her side as she married Josh and have watched her become the best mother to her twin boys Brooks & Wells! I am truly blessed that she'll be by my side as I marry Spenser! When Emily was six years old she wanted to be a Veterinarian when she grew up!

Dan Morelli

Groomsman

Dan and I were co-workers at my previous company and I convinced him to move into our townhouse when Kyle moved out. After I moved out, our friendship continued to grow through bourbon, happy hours, and our annual golf trip to Myrtle Beach. Dan is always asking Kari and I what are plans are for the upcoming weekend and can probably be found singing an Eric Church song. What is Dan's favorite way to spend a day off: "play golf and pickleball with friends".
