Told by Kaitlyn: We met March of 2015 at a house party but it wasn't your typical party meeting...Jacob was attending the party and I (Kaitlyn) showed up at the party to break it up. I was near the party at another friend's house and was informed that the party across the street was getting out of hand and needed back up, and I was happy to oblige. Once I announced the party was over and everyone was clearing out, a cute blonde boy approached and introduced himself as Jacob and immediately started helping clean up beer bottles. Jacob admitted later on that he had seen me on social media apps and thought I was quite attractive, however I had a different boyfriend at the time so Jacob did not yet make his move. A few weeks later my relationship ended and Jacob slid into my direct messages on a popular app at the time (ask.fm), and I gave him my number. We were soon texting everyday and arranged to have our first date at Tim Hortons. This date almost didn't happen. As I went to pick Jacob up from his house, I went to Arthur St W not Arthur St E (being a Port Arthur girl who just got her license I had yet to learn the difference.) Not long after the first date, on May 2nd, 2015 Jacob asked me officially to be his girlfriend at Mongo's Grill. I said yes, of course and we've been best friends ever since. We have now been together for 10 years and have already shared so many memories and milestones together. Some memories of early years include attending each others high school proms and both graduating from Lakehead University together in 2019. Our relationship remained strong through the hard years of having a long distance relationship while I attended pharmacy school in Waterloo for four years. Once I was done school we decided it was time to have a space of our own, so in May 2023 we bought & moved into our first house together. Since we both also love animals it wasn't long after we purchased our house that we decided to get a dog! In November 2023 Millie; the cutest little corgi, came into our lives. We both love our fur baby Millie just as much as we love each other and she truly makes our house a home. I was ready for my ring as soon as we bought our house, but Jacob kept me waiting. He purchased the ring in September 2024, and hid it for 9 whole months! (and oh boy did he hide it well because I looked multiple times). The day after my 27th birthday Jacob took Millie and myself to one of our favourite places, Grand Marais Minnesota. We spent the day eating lunch at Hungry Hippie Tacos, getting ice cream and walking downtown. While taking a walk to the light house Jacob got down on one knee and popped the question! We told our families at Kaitlyn's camp 2 days later, right before I blew out my birthday candles I slipped on the ring and gave everyone a huge happy surprise! Since then we have been in wedding planning mode. We are so excited for our big day, and very excited that all of you will be joining us :)
