Time to Get Hitched!

We are so thrilled to celebrate our wedding day with our closest friends and family in the beautiful Boyne River Valley! We can’t begin to share our deep appreciation and gratitude for all of our favorite people who will be partaking in the journey to ‘I do’ with us! Let’s face it, it’s been a long time coming – 11 years and counting to be exact...(!!)

Chapter One:

For those of you who are unfamiliar with our story, Smitty and I met in 2011 during our freshman year at Fairfield U (shout out to all our fellow Stags). It was a *casual* evening in Gonzaga, our freshman year dorm, commonly referred to as Jungle Juice Friday (iykyk), the pre-game to the night out. Well as it turned out, I finally allowed our mutual friend to introduce me to the “cute guy on the first floor”, who also happened to be the co-host of Jungle Juice Friday (this should be trademarked). [Enter Smitty] For weeks I noticed Kaitlyn in the laundry room of Gonzaga. She always made it a point to say a friendly hello, but the conversation never went much further (you all know I’m the quiet one). And as luck (or fate) would have it, when she walked into our dorm room that Friday I felt like this could finally be my big break. [Kaitlyn] Our friend (hey Grace) had definitely been talking each of us up to the other – it basically was a set up, but I was going to play it cool regardless. [Smitty] That was until a couple drinks in, leaning against the bed post talking to me, she spilled her drink. Her clumsiness ultimately landed my win. “Make it up to me over breakfast tomorrow?” [Kaitlyn] Maybe it was part of the plot twist? Needless to say, the following morning I did meet him again over breakfast - in the dining hall mind you (smh). After, we both ended up back in the Gonzaga laundry room where we had our very first encounter, and I insisted on helping to clean the comforter I accidentally soaked the night before. [Us] After 2 failed attempts at asking her to be my girlfriend, she finally obliged (the most patient I’ve ever been – ha), a proposal 10 years later (Kaitlyn: the most patient I’VE ever been), and many loads of laundry and adventures in between and here we are now.
