[Not a question but] You will have to purchase tickets to enter the fairgrounds to attend our wedding, your name will be on a list and your tickets will be discounted as long as you RSVP in time. Also - there’s really cool stuff at the fair and it’s a basically a cash business; there are a couple ATMs but they always have long lines and fees. Also -
We’re having our wedding be an adult party, so parents can use this opportunity to have a fun time out together! There’s going to be a lot of drinking and feasting, and there’s going to be various acts (some dangerous and others bawdy) performing during the reception, which won’t be suitable for children.
It’s a themed wedding - we’re literally going to be in the middle of a renaissance faire, so dress appropriately (kilts and corsets highly encouraged. HOWEVER - remember - boots BEFORE corset 👍). [You don’t have to wear a renaissance outfit per se, but putting a little creative effort into your outfit will be much appreciated so you won't look out of place!]
There are lots of shops on Etsy that sell Renn Faire garb, if you search for "Renaissance Faire Outfits", you're sure to find some there. Some other word suggestions to help you find an outfit/accessories your outfit would be "bracers", "greaves", "underbust or overbust corsets", "bodices", "leather armor", "kilts", "jerkins", "tunics", chemises", "pirate", "peasant", "medieval", "viking" "fairy", "elven", etc. Regarding footwear, the fairgrounds are all dirt paths, so just go into it expecting to get a little dirty. NOTE: Our wedding is still technically during the summer season, so do yourself a favor and don't wear chainmail or plate armor - we know it looks cool, but we faire veterans mock those poor fools who thought it wise and ended up passing out from heatstroke. Just a thought. ALSO - all weapons must be peace-tied (unable to come out of it's sheath) in order to enter the fairgrounds, so be aware of that if you plan on carrying a sword or a dagger. Zip ties work the best.
The ceremony will begin at 1pm, but you’ll need time to get through the line of traffic leading into the fairgrounds, walk from the parking lot through the quarry, and into the fairgrounds to find Kings Arbor, so make sure to give yourself enough time (shoot for 12:30). Side Note: You can always get to the fair early (there are shows and acts that run throughout the day, plus tons of shops and games and activities) to enjoy yourself before the wedding.
Depending on which way you come in, you’re going to have to walk a ways from the parking lots into the fairgrounds. If you come in the front, you’ll have to walk through the moat (it’s dried up, you’ll be fine) but if you come in the back way, you’ll have to wrestle the trolls (good luck!)
