Question

Why Asheville?

Answer

In 2021, the two of us went on our first ever trip together – and decided to go to Asheville! We instantly fell in love with this wonderful city. From antique and vintage stores, to gorgeous hikes, to funky breweries and great restaurants, it’s a perfect patchwork of so many of our favorite things and we can’t wait to share it with you all! When Jacob’s parents started living there part-time and with our friends and family spread out all over the country, we knew Asheville was the perfect place for our wedding.

Question

How’s Asheville doing after Hurricane Helene?

Answer

It has been remarkable and inspiring to see how well Asheville has bounced back after a devastating flood in late 2024. While most of the town is back to normal, parts are still recovering. The River Arts District and Biltmore Village are slowly reopening. As a city built on small businesses and local artists, the best thing we can do is shop locally - so go out and enjoy the town! We also encourage you all to donate to BeLoved Asheville, one of the key groups providing hurricane relief in Asheville.

Question

How do I get around during the weekend?

Answer

From the hotel, you can walk to the Welcome Party (which we recommend) and you are an easy walking distance to downtown Asheville. There will be no shuttle to the wedding, but it is a short Uber/Lyft ride, and there is parking available at the venue if you have a car. The city itself is very easy to explore by walking or ubering. If you plan to try and get outside the city or go for a hike, you should consider renting a car.

Question

Can I bring my children or a plus one?

Answer

While we love your children, please only bring them if they were specifically invited. Similarly, please only bring a plus one if they were invited on your invitation.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

See the “schedule” page for more details. Friday night’s welcome party is dressy casual, think a nice sundress or a button down. The wedding on Saturday is formal, please wear a suit and tie or cocktail to full length dress. There is no dance floor (we’ll be on grass) so we don’t recommend stilettos.

Question

Which hotel should I stay in?

Answer

The two wedding block hotels are the Embassy Suites and The Doubletree Hotel. They are located directly across the street from each other and are both lovely. The Embassy Suites reservation includes breakfast and an afternoon happy hour. There will be a very informal Hospitality Suite open during some parts of the weekend in Sharon and Walter Spiegel’s rooms - at the Embassy Suites. Both hotels are in easy walking distance to the downtown area, Welcome Party, and many breweries. There are many other hotels in the area if you choose, but all the “fun” will be happening at the Embassy Suites and Doubletree.
