Just family. the entire day will be a small, intimate family affair and as such we will only have family at all the events.
Absofreakinglutely! Every event, save for Monday sea shanties, is kid friendly. it is up to the discretion of the families with kiddos if they'd like to bring their kids on the sailboat or to dinner, but they are of course welcomed, as they are family. We are also happy to arrange a nanny for a few hours, the entire day, etc to ensure all four of the kiddos can be involved in whatever capacity works best for them and their families. (yes, this means if youd like, we can have her on the boat with us so the kids can be at the ceremony and you'll have an extra set of eyes on your kids)
Nope! All of the restaurants we'll be dining at, including The Treehouse at Oyster Club, rotate their menus frequently based off of availability of locally sourced ingredients, so the menus will truly be contingent upon what's in season and ready to harvest. However, it is important for us that everyone be able to enjoy their dining experience to the fullest, so if you have any dietary restrictions or preferences, please do let us know. In the digital RSVP section, there is opportunity at each event to fill us in on any restrictions or requests that we can then relay to the restaurants.
We would LOVE your feedback for beverages aboard The Argia for the actual ceremony. We will have wine, beer, pre-batched cocktails, and soft drinks aboard, and would love to know what YOU want to drink! We will of course have Champagne and a non-alcoholic sparkling option for the kiddos so we can all toast. From there, if you'd like any other sort of beverage, please let us know, or you'll be stuck with whatever we choose. On the digital RSVP page, there is opportunity to tell us any drink preferences you may have for the sail.
Short answer: Yes. Long answer: We will be there during the tail end of the summer, which is still well within the tourist season in this neck of the woods. Parking in downtown Mystic can be tricky. Plan on either hunting for street parking on either side of the river, which is all extremely walkable, or utilizing one of the paid parking lots. We would strongly suggest leaving yourself plenty of time to find parking, since the towns of Groton and Stonington have yet to find an elegant solution. Another item of note, the downtown bascule bridge is on a regular schedule of going up every hour at the :40 mark between 8am and 8pm to afford boats a throughway. while extremely charming, this does makes the main road through town a veritable parking lot for at least ten minutes, so if you have to cross the river, plan accordingly!
