Travel Note

1. Ferry

The only way to get to Anderson Island is by ferry. You can either walk on to the ferry ($5.45/adult) or drive ($23.85/car + driver, plus $5.45/non-driver passenger). Please get on the 3:20pm ferry at the very latest to make sure you can attend the ceremony. Click "VIEW" below to see ferry schedule. The last ferry leaves at 10:30pm from Anderson Island. We suggest you walk on to the ferry. Please see the "Parking" tab for more information. If walking on, remember to arrive at the ferry dock no less than 15 minutes before the ferry leaves to buy tickets. There is no limit to the number of people who can walk onto the ferry. If driving on the ferry, know that the weekend ferries can fill up quickly with cars. I would suggest getting to them ferry dock an hour and a half before the ferry you are hoping to catch.

Shuttle

2. Driving/Shuttle

May 11, 2019 2:00 pm - 11:00 pm

If you walk on, a van can pick you up from the ferry and transport you to the venue. After the festivities, it can take you to the ferry or your accommodations. If you drive onto the island, there will be ample parking available at the wedding venue (Anderson Island Community Club) or at the Anderson Island Community Church next door (11405 Yoman Road).

House Or Rental

3. Accommodations

There are many housing options on Anderson Island! Try VRBO, AirBNB, or just google "bed and breakfast on Anderson Island, WA". You could also stay in Steilacoom (where the ferry lands), Lakewood, or Tacoma area. There is also a camp ground on Anderson Island with RV hookups or tent camping options.

Flight

4. Flights

SeaTac is the closest airport to Anderson Island. The 574 bus takes you straight from SeaTac to the Lakewood Towne Center (https://www.soundtransit.org/taxonomy/term/369), and you can get a $15 Lyft from there to the ferry dock or take the 212 bus from Lakewood Towne Center to the Steilacoom Ferry Dock.

Travel Note

Parking

If walking onto the ferry: 1) Free parking -- We arranged parking in the Steilacoom Community Church parking lot, but you must be out of the parking lot by Sunday morning. This lot is located at the corner of Pacific St. and Rainier St. This is the closest free option to the ferry dock. -- You can park on the side of the road on Chambers street between Sequalish st and Adams st for free as long as you want. This is a bit farther from the ferry dock. -- Most parking in Steilacoom (where the ferry takes off from) is free, but only 2 hours (even on the weekends). 2) Pay parking -- There is a Diamond Parking lot directly in front of the ferry dock that is $8/10 hours.
