Our pre-dates

Sweeping her off the dance floor

J-squared met in medical school through their involvement in a student org called QMED (Queers in Medicine). Jordan would often invite Jessica over to study or watch movies, such as "But I'm a Cheerleader", and Jessica managed to sneakily grab Jordan's phone number at a workshop at school. One of the most memorable invitations was Jordan's invite for Jessica to go swing dancing with her (and a group of friends). That night when they got to dance together, it was pretty clear there was chemistry between them as Jessica led and Jordan spun. The next week, Jordan invited Jessica to a 'Turtle Dance', which she described as a mix of 'interpretive dance and yoga'. Jessica said yes, though mostly spent the evening bobbing her head around the perimeter of the room as everyone else weaved throughout the room. Jordan spun elegantly and had a jolly time. Together, Jessica 'casted' her imaginary fishing rod and Jordan hopped like a fish toward her...because they are ridiculous... Though Jessica was mostly uncomfortable, at the end of the night, her head ended up on Jordan's stomach (everyone ended the night in a cuddle pile on the floor.... it was quite the evening!). And later that night Jessica asked Jordan on their first real date!

Our First Date

She ran from the car

Jessica invited Jordan on their first date to a Rabbit Wilde--now Kuinka--concert. They started the evening with a dinner where they officially decided the event was a date (because Jessica had been vague by text..). The concert itself was lovely, and J-squared made their way to an area outside where they could do some swing dancing (of course) out of the crowd. At the end of the night, as Jessica was dropping off Jordan, Jordan managed to basically run out of the car before Jessica could even think about kissing her! Luckily (or on purpose?) Jordan left her leftovers in the car and there was an excuse to kiss her a few days later.
