Yes and no. We absolutely love kids, and welcome all of your kids at our wedding weekend! IslandWood is a wonderfully family-friendly place with plenty of activities and lodging for all ages. Over the course of the weekend, we’re looking forward to lots of time together with the little ones in our lives and are incorporating activities that include them throughout the weekend. For the ceremony and reception on Saturday, however, we’ve chosen to keep these more formal celebrations adults-only, with the exception of our own children and a few very close family members. During that time, we’ll have some amazing childcare lined up — think treehouse adventures, arts and crafts, games, and a cozy bean bag movie night — so the kids will be having a celebration of their own. Please reach out to us with any questions about kids or childcare.
Because of space and logistics, we’re only able to include the people named on each invitation. If your invite includes a guest, you’ll see their name (or “and guest”) listed. The same goes for children — unless they’re named on your invitation, the ceremony and reception will be adults-only. But don’t worry — we’ve arranged some awesome childcare during that time, with treehouse exploring, arts and crafts, outdoor games, and even a bean bag movie night, so the kids will be having a celebration of their own while we celebrate together.
Yes! IslandWood is all ours for the entire wedding weekend, and we encourage everyone to be there and join in all the festivities regardless of where you're sleeping.
We would love to spend as much time as possible with all the important people in our lives who are traveling so far to celebrate with us. There will be activities and gathering time all day on Friday and Saturday. The ceremony starts at 4:30pm on Saturday, so please be sure to arrive by then!
Yes, IslandWood has ample parking for guests driving to the wedding.
Most of the weekend will be relaxed and outdoorsy, so feel free to pack casual clothes and a water-resistant layer if you’d like to explore the trails and activities at IslandWood. For the ceremony and reception on Saturday, we ask for cocktail attire — a step up from everyday wear, but not black-tie formal. Suits and ties, dresses, or nice blouses/shirts with slacks are all perfect. Please no jeans or shorts for this part of the celebration. Think polished but comfortable, with shoes you can walk in on outdoor paths.
Yes! Please indicate any dietary needs or preferences on your RSVP.
IslandWood is set up like a nature retreat, so there’s plenty to enjoy between wedding events. You’ll find mossy forested hiking trails, two treehouses, a suspension bridge, pond, meadow, garden, a canopy tower offering 360 views of Puget Sound, and lots of spots for relaxing and connecting with friends and family. There will also be organized activities for kids and plenty of common spaces for board games, hanging out, or just enjoying a quiet moment with a cup of coffee. The charming community of Winslow with shops and restaurants is about 15 minutes away, and there are plenty of local spots to visit the beach (though it will be too cold to swim, unless you are a fan of cold plunges!).
At IslandWood! Meals are included starting with dinner Friday evening through brunch Sunday morning. You're welcome to bring your favorite light snacks for personal consumption between meals if you like, and parents are welcome to bring food or snacks for kids (refrigeration for formula and similar items is available).
Yes! Non-alcoholic beverage options will be available all weekend, and most meals will include alcoholic options as well. Unfortunately, IslandWood does not allow visitors to bring outside alcohol on-site due to liquor license restrictions.
Yes! We also will have golf carts available for guests with mobility limitations.
