**COVID-19 Update**

Keeping Everyone Safe & Healthy

Well, we certainly thought when we chose this date last year that we would be well out of the woods with this virus. Alas. We are embracing the new normal, and we are going to celebrate! By the time we get to May 23, many of us will be vaccinated (yay!), many of us will still be waiting, and all of us will have varying degrees of comfort interacting with those outside our normal bubble. So we wanted to go through what to expect throughout the weekend so everyone feels safe. Stay tuned to more details -- we will update this as the situation with the virus changes and as we get closer to the date. First, we will be following Jefferson County Public Health Orders (https://www.jeffco.us/3999/Coronavirus-Disease-2019-COVID-19). As of March 6, we are sitting at Blue on the dial, which means "exercise caution". Masks are still required in most indoor places in Colorado and we encourage everyone to follow local mask mandates. Second, our venue is Five Star Certified (https://covid19.colorado.gov/five-star-certification). They are held to higher safety standards & have implemented measures to keep us safe - installing two hospital grade air filters, hand sanitizing stations everywhere, demarcations on the ground to allow for 6ft at the bar, etc. The venue consists of a large banquet hall & large outdoor garden. It has the ability to hold three times the people we will be celebrating with, so we have plenty of room to socially distance. We will still need to follow the venue's mask protocols, & we will have masks at the wedding, if you forget yours. Third, we are so excited to welcome you into our home. We have a large outdoor yard with both covered & uncovered patio areas. While you are inside our home, we do kindly ask that you wear a mask so that everyone feels safe. We will have hand sanitizer & antibacterial wipes readily available. Please feel free to email us at lovejoshtobritts@gmail.com if you have any questions/concerns. We can't wait to celebrate with you!

How We Met

Apparently online dating works

Oh Bumble. Brittany messaged Josh, "Would you like to get a drink sometime? Or coffee?" Josh replied, "Sure thing, that sounds fun!" They met for drinks at Barrels and Bottles in Golden on Monday, May 20, 2019, but had to cut the date short because it was a blizzard and Brittany felt bad about making Josh drive ALL the way home to Denver in a blizzard. Turns out, Josh had a 5 mile radius on his Bumble, meaning he only wanted to be matched with people within 5 miles of him - oops. Given that he lived in Denver and Britt in Golden, they should not have matched at all. But thankfully, his favorite trail running spot was within 5 miles of Britt, and Bumble made it happen.

The Proposal

Camping or Bust

It was July 10th, and Josh and Brittany went on what seemed-to-be a normal camping trip next to Turquoise Lake near Leadville, CO. It had been exactly a year since their first backpacking trip, which Brittany had remembered since she has an astonishing memory for dates. We drove up Thursday night, woke up Friday morning to a gorgeous Colorado day - blue sky, sun shining, warm, but not hot, and Foxie Roo was relatively well-behaved. In summary, it was a perfect morning. Josh asked Brittany if she would like to do this for the rest of our lives. Then he asked if Brittany would like to marry him. She said yes! Foxie was thrilled, and tried to give both Josh and Britt as many kisses as she could while they hugged while kneeling in the dirt. Once they finally pulled themselves together, it was time to take Foxie for a walk. They were on a hike, taking in the sights of Colorado's largest 14er, Mt. Elbert. Brittany turned to Josh and told him that it was her turn. She proposed to Josh with a beautiful ring, encircled by mountains, engraved with the phrase "Love of my Life." Of course, Josh said yes! Later, Britt told Josh that if he had not of proposed that morning, she would have that night. After paddleboarding and hiking, they returned to camp on the creek with sparkling wine. It was a perfect day in the Colorado mountains.
