One of our favorite free date night spots, the galleries here are always changing! The large outdoor Art-Park is one of our favorite places to walk Mr. Andouille. Additionally, Kenric and Jordan took their engagement photos here!
After admiring the galleries and sculptures at the Museum, hit up Jord's old stomping grounds nearby. This was the brewery that Jordan bar-tended at and is one of our favorites! Whether it is to watch Canes games, play some trivia, or just hang out outside, their beer is refreshing and always hits the spot. Jord's fave: Any of the "Passion Project" sour flavors, KB's fave: The Toll imperial stout.
This is the place! Take a trip over to where Kenric and Jord met and spent not only the beginning of their relationship, but the beginning of their adult lives. Some of the best spots on campus, Carroll Hall (Kenric lived here), Talley Student Center, Carter Finley Stadium (Kenric’s favorite place), The Atrium/Hill library (Jord spent many long nights here) and the Free Expression tunnel. If you head over to the wooden swings, outside of Sullivan Hall (Jord lived here) you’ll see where Kenric and Jordan shared their first kiss. If you make it over to Centennial Campus, Hunt library is beautiful and has a cool “book-bot” on the entry floor.
North Hills is a section of North Raleigh that has it all! If you feel like shopping, grabbing a bite to eat, walking a trail, grabbing a coffee you name it. This shopping area has a plethora of restaurants and shops that will definitely keep you busy! Some of our faves include STIR, Vita Vite, Another Broken Egg, and Cowfish. North Hills sometimes has live music and Kings is a fun bowling alley/restaurant.
Downtown Durham is home to a bunch of the couple’s favorite breweries! Some of our favorites include Hi-Wire, Durty Bull, and Ponysaurus. For a fun night night we recommend Surf Club bar or The Boxcar barcade! In the spring, we often go to Durham Bulls Baseball games and while it will be off-season, the stadium is still cool and right in the middle of downtown.
