The funny thing about how Jordan and Kenric met, is that it almost didn’t happen. In 2016, Jordan and Kenric were both entering the Spring semester during their first year at NC State. Towards the end of January, both of them were somehow convinced by friends to attend the same party. Kenric was standing in the corner brooding (as usual) when Jord first noticed him. So she walked over to him and said “you look familiar do I know you” and in true Kenric fashion he just stared at her. To this day, Jordan has no idea why he looked familiar or why she thought she knew him or if she just made it up to talk to him. But regardless, it seems to have worked. They spent the rest of the party talking and Kenric walked Jord back to her dorm. They stayed outside talking on a wooden swing by the building and it was there that Kenric asked Jordan if she had ever had Cookout (she did not even know what it was.) He told her all about their crazy milkshakes and she said they sounded good before she went upstairs to go to bed and he headed back to his dorm. The next day, while Jord was studying for a Biology exam, she had a text from Kenric telling her to come outside. When she did he had a Reese Peanut Butter Cup milkshake from Cookout for her. And from that day on, her friends called him Milkshake Boy, and the rest is history.

One Thursday during Jordan's Physician Assistant school Summer break Kenric had a surprise planned for them. All he shared with Jordan was what time to be ready, to not wear Carolina Blue and that they could get food after. The entire car ride there Jordan had a feeling something was going on but when Kenric said they were getting a tour of NC State’s football facilities, she chuckled. After arriving at the Murphy Center, 4 players and one of the NIL higher ups gave them a tour of the entire building! They got to see the weight room, where the players eat, the coaches offices, their PT facility and finally the tunnel out onto the field. While on the field, someone suggested taking a photo, so Jordan and Kenric and all the players lined up on the 50 yard line. Jord was asked to move up a little since she is so short and Kenric used this opportunity to get down on one knee. He then asked “hey Jord you wanna turn around” and when she did she screamed. He asked her to marry him and she said yes! “Marry You” by Bruno Mars started playing on the sound system and the players brought them champagne. Turns out Kenric had this all planned with them the entire time!!! It was perfect, and so on brand for Kenric. It was so special, just like Carter Finley has been and now always will be.
