The Details

The physical environment of Santa Cruz County is incredibly diverse—ocean, mountains, redwoods. You have lots of choices for where to stay. Airbnbs or hotels in Aptos, Capitola, or Santa Cruz will afford the most options in terms of modern conveniences (restaurants, drugstores, etc.); if you want something a little more off the beaten path, check out Felton, Ben Lomond or Boulder Creek. Regardless, we advise booking early to capitalize on better rates and availability. Note that we will have a block of rooms at the Dream Inn in Santa Cruz; we will be providing shuttle service for *any* wedding guests from this hotel to the venue and back. We will also have a special room rate at the Hilton Santa Cruz/Scotts Valley; guests staying there will need to Uber/Lyft or drive to the venue. We recommend flying into Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC); it's about 45 minutes north of Aptos. San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is further north (about an hour and a half) but will have more flight options for people coming from further away. Monterey Peninsula Airport (MRY) is the smallest and is about 40 minutes south of Aptos. (NOTE: take care NOT to book flights out of SJO, Juan Santamaría International Airport, which is in Costa Rica.) So that you can take full advantage of everything this area has to offer, we urge you to rent a car. There is limited parking on-site at the venue; please message us if you plan to drive to the ceremony so that we can ensure there is space.

Dream Inn

If you're going the hotel route, this is our reco for our guests traveling from further away. The Dream Inn is a Santa Cruz classic, boasts ocean and pier views, and is located near things like restaurants, bars, etc. Please note that if you stay at the hotel on Saturday night, there is a two-night minimum. Probably not an issue for most but the hotel asked us to advise guests of this policy. We recommend booking a minimum of three months in advance. This hotel sold out last year on Veterans Day weekend. Note that we will be providing shuttle transportation to/from this hotel on the day of the ceremony & reception. If you aren't staying here, you can still take advantage of the shuttle!, but you cannot park here if you aren't a guest of the hotel, so would need to Uber/Lyft from your hotel/Airbnb/etc.

For our guests who only plan to stay in the area for one night, this is a great option. It's just 20 minutes away from the venue and was recently remodeled.

There are lots of beautiful properties available this time of year via both sites. If you want to cut down on lodging costs, consider staying with other folks and pooling for a house or condo. Just remember that you will need to either Uber/Lyft to the Dream Inn to catch the shuttle or find another way to get to the venue for the ceremony & reception.

If you'd like an Aptos hotel option, this one has reasonable rates and is right on Rio Del Mar Beach (immediately adjacent to Seacliff State Beach).
