Travel Note
Some places in California require proof of Covid vaccination to enter. Bring your vaccine card just in case! Remember to drink lots of water before and during your trip! Mammoth Lakes is at altitude (7,850 feet), and we’d hate for altitude sickness to cause you trouble. The resort is located within the Inyo National Forest. The National Park Service may require full Covid vaccination and/or a negative Covid test for guests. Please plan accordingly! The weather in September varies greatly. It could be anywhere from 50s-80s on the day of, and is likely to cool down at night. The tent is heated, but plan to bring some sort of layers in case it gets chilly.
Flight
It’s probably best to fly into the Reno-Tahoe International Airport. Most major airlines fly through there. There is a small airport near Mammoth Lakes (Mammoth-Yosemite Airport), which flies United. A little farther away is the Fresno Airport, which also flies most major airlines.
Travel Note
If you are coming from the Reno-Tahoe Airport, it's about a 3 1/2 hour drive to Mammoth Lakes. The main highway in and out of Mammoth Lakes and Convict Lake is US 395. Mammoth Lakes has its own loop (CA 203). To get to Convict Lake Resort, turn onto Convict Lake Rd and follow it down! If you are coming from NorCal or the Bay Area, Tioga Pass is open this time of year. While it may not cut extra time off your drive, it'll provide some spectacular views of Yosemite!
Shuttle
September 3, 2021 4:00 pm - 1:00 am
For those staying in Mammoth Lakes, we will have a shuttle service available. It will pick up and drop off at the Mammoth Mountain Inn and outside the Liberty Sports Bar and Grill. Shuttles will leave from the Mammoth Mountain Inn every 30 minutes starting at 4:00 until 5:30 for arrival to the reception. Shuttle service from the reception will be every half hour starting at 10:00, with the last shuttle leaving at 11:30. If you have questions, or if you are unsure that you are in the right place, call 760-709-2927 and say you are with the Cohen-Yin wedding. We love you- please don’t drink and drive!
Hotel
The Mammoth Mountain Inn is one of the two hotels we would recommend staying at. The shuttle will stop here to pick guests up and bring them to and from the reception. The MMI requires a 3-night stay on holiday weekends, if this factors into your travel plans.
Hotel
The Alpenhof Lodge is another hotel we would recommend. It is a smaller hotel and will likely have fewer rooms available. Please let us know if you are planning to stay here so we can make sure the shuttle comes to get you!
Hotel
The wedding season is always busy, and cabins at the resort are limited. Please let us know if you are interested in staying on-site. There are currently a few cabins available- there is a 3 night minimum stay if you would like to book one. Act fast!
House Or Rental
There are several AirBnBs in the area if you are interested in a rental!
