Things To Do In Chicago

The Wedding Website of Katie Hurley and John Regalado
While you're in town make the most of it! Here are our suggestions for the city and the north shore.
The Art Institute of Chicago

The Art Institute of Chicago

111 South Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL 60603
, (312) 443-3600

As seen in Ferris Bueller's day off. Go feast your eyes on a Van Gogh, Monet, or Grant Wood's American Gothic.

Bahai Temple

Bahai Temple

100 Linden Ave, Wilmette, IL 60091

This is an essential North Shore stop and a pretty spectacular sight to see. They may recruit you to join the religion so be warned ; )

Chicago River Boat Architecture Tours

Chicago River Boat Architecture Tours

465 North McClurg Court, Chicago, IL 60611
, (708) 488-6343

Chicago is all about the architecture and this is the most enjoyable way to take it all in.

Millennium Park

Millennium Park

201 E. Randolph St., Chicago, IL 60601

Get your selfie with the giant bean! There are cool art installations and gardens throughout this famous park. There are also plenty of places to eat & drink nearby.

Chicago Riverwalk

Chicago Riverwalk

Chicago Riverwalk, Chicago, IL

This award-winning Riverwalk has quickly become one of the most popular places in Chicago, and it is right outside the downtown hotel.

Chicago Botanic Garden

Chicago Botanic Garden

1000 Lake Cook Road, Glencoe, IL 60022
, (847) 835-5440

Pristine gardens. Lovely spot to have lunch. The Japanese Gardens and The English Gardens are my favorite. This is Katie, btw.

Walker Bros. Original Pancake House

Walker Bros. Original Pancake House

153 Green Bay Road, Wilmette, IL 60091
, (847) 251-6000

Do you love pancakes? Do you love classic diners? Here you go.

Cherry Street Beach

Cherry Street Beach

445-451 Sheridan Rd, Winnetka, IL 60093

There's public beach access at the intersection of Cherry and Sheridan Road. This is Winnetka's best-kept secret. There's a little unmarked path that leads to the beach stairs. It looks like a private driveway but it's not. A solid chunk of Katie's adolescence was spent at this beach. Listen to "Brand New" on a walkman for the full effect.

Home Alone House

671 Lincoln Avenue, Winnetka, IL 60093

Katie's hometown of Winnetka was the setting for several John Hughes movies, including Ferris Bueller's Day Off and, most famously, Home Alone. The Home Alone house is still a privately-owned home, but its a rare day when you don't find a fan standing in front of the beautiful brick building flashing the patented Kevin McCallister scream for a camera.

For all the days along the way
