8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Smart Casual -- plus maybe a sweater and some lawn-comfy shoes
If you make it into town in time, join us Friday night for drinks at the Hurley home (and weather permitting, the Hurley backyard, because there will be cornhole!) There are no wedding shuttles on Friday, but Uber works really well there and the house is a short walk to the Winnetka Metra train station. If you drive, please note there is no parking on our side (the west side) of Walden Road, but there is a public parking lot just a block away, at the corner of Pine and Birch Streets, just behind Grand Foods. If you'd rather venture into the city Friday night, we've got recommendations for you!
4:30 pm - 5:30 pm
Cocktail Attire -- think cocktail dresses, LBDs, dressy jumpsuits, and dark jackets and slacks. The ceremony will be outdoors on the lawn, so wear a hat if the sun is not your friend, and think twice about those spike heels. The reception will be in a tent, but it may get chilly when the sun goes down. Baby Tessa will be wearing pastels, shoes optional, if that helps.
This Quaker-style wedding reflects Katie's family heritage and invites friends and family to silently witness John and Katie take their vows. For more information see our FAQs and look up the YouTube video "What to Expect at a Quaker Wedding." There's no parking or drop-off at Elawa Farm, so please make your way to St. James Lutheran Church at 1380 Waukegan Road, Lake Forest, where you'll be shuttled to the venue and back. See "Hotels and Travel" for more info.
5:30 pm - 10:30 pm
Our reception will take place immediately after the wedding service in a beautiful tent just steps away. There will be fun stations with food from around the world, so choose your favorites, grab a seat, and have fun. Can't wait to celebrate with you!

Come hang out at the Hurley house after the reception to have an extra piece of cake and recap the night's events with the happy couple.
