What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

Please come dressed up for the big day! The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal/cocktail attire. Ladies should wear cocktail dresses, and the gentlemen should wear a suit and tie or a sports coat.

Ceremony – Outside (Weather Pending) Reception – Inside If there is a change our wedding planner will update our guests.

Is this an unplugged wedding?

Answer

We have an amazing photographer and videographer that will capture this special moment. We ask you to join us in being fully present by putting away all your electronic devices.

I can't attend the wedding in person. Will there be a virtual wedding celebration?

Answer

We are working hard to accommodate a way for all our family and friends to be apart of our special day. We will be in contact with a way to watch our wedding from a far. The ceremony will start 12:00 PM noon EST.

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, guests can head straight to the reception hall where we will be holding a cocktail hour.

Does your wedding have a theme?

Answer

We will be married in a castle. Come dressed up! No theme.

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes, we will have an open bar. Please drink responsibly!

Are there other wedding events I can attend?

Answer

Yes! John’s father Bill will be hosting a happy hour to start the celebration! This will be held at Reverse Pool & Beach Lounge at 8:45PM-11:00 PM. We will be sending out a separate RSVP.

How do I get to the venue?

Answer

Uber, Taxi, or Train (6 min walk to venue from station) are available options in Portugal. There will be no transportation provided.

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We recommend that you arrive 20 minutes before the start of the ceremony (4:40 PM), to make sure everyone is on time and we can get the party started as scheduled!

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding is going to be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

Answer

We will not be doing hotel blocks, since as a destination wedding there will be no consistency on how long people will stay and who will want hotels vs Airbnbs. Alicia and John will be staying at the Hotel Palácio near the venue.

When is the RSVP deadline? Do I need to mail back my RSVP or can I do it online?

Answer

We will be sending out a formal invitation. You will then have the option to RSVP online.

Are the ceremony and reception location wheelchair accessible?

Answer

Yes.

Will food and drinks be served at the reception? What kind of food?

Answer

During the cocktail hour we will provide finger foods. This will then be followed by a full sit-down meal.

Will there be any vegan/vegetarian/gluten free/special diet options?

On our formal invitation there will be an option to let us know if you have any dietary restrictions.

Thank you so much for thinking of us! We will be traveling after the big day. The best way to receive gifts will be to address it to our home.

Answer

Flowers are hard to travel with. Everything must stay at the venue.

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

Yes, we encourage guests to post pictures on to their social media channels, our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #stobbartsgetriced so, we can keep track of all your pictures!

When will the reception end? Will there be an after-party?

Of course! There are many fun bars, casinos, and speakeasies walkable from the venue.
