Hotel
Event is called "Rosswood" if you are calling to book. This is where we have a hotel block and our recommended accommodation choice. This hotel is not in downtown Salt Lake, but closer to Millcreek Canyon, where the wedding venue is. It is also at the mouth of Parley's Canyon (towards Park City) if that is of interest as well. For hotel shuttle to the venue information scroll down a little. For any further exploring of SLC, we encourage you to use Uber or Lyft, unless we are available to pick you up and spend time with you as well. For transportation to and from the airport, Salt Lake Airport Shuttle (https://saltlakeairportshuttle.com/) is an option if you don't want to use a ride share service or rent a car.
Travel Note
For guest staying at the hotel we are going to be having a free shuttle service running to and from Log Haven starting from 4pm to 11:30pm. The shuttle at the end of the service will be at 10pm and a final departure at 11:30pm. The shuttle will seat 13 passengers, and is for hotel guests only.
Travel Note
Salt Lake City is 4,265 feet above sea level. To contrast that, Indianapolis is 719 feet above sea level. This means there’s significantly less oxygen in the air in Salt Lake City. For visitors not used to high altitudes, you may experience altitude sickness. This can look like: Fatigue, loss of appetite, nausea/vomiting, rapid breathing or shortness of breath, and/or headaches, among other issues. When Maddie first moved to Salt Lake City, she experienced fatigue and had headaches. Excedrin and her water bottle were her only friends in town for a few weeks. If you’re coming from a low altitude and want to go hiking, choose a hike that is shorter and/or easier. Luckily, there are many ways to mediate altitude sickness. Make sure to drink lots of water, allow yourself rest, and limit your consumption of alcohol and caffeine. With alcohol and high altitude, you will get drunk faster and on less than you are used to consuming.
