Want to go where Maddie and Jeremy had their first date, and everything started to go south? Dinner - Laziz Kitchen Walk around - Trolley Square - https://www.trolleysquare.com/
This one is a difficult hike, folks! We had to quit halfway through the last time we tried it. Only attempt if you're up for some elevation gain and probably some mud.
Bonus – you can get coffee at Urban Sailor beforehand, which is right across the street!
Bonus - you can get brunch at Picnic or The Park Cafe, and then visit Tracey Aviary!
Bonus – you can wind up the path to the Utah State Capitol Building and wander around inside!
October is probably the best time to visit Antelope Island - this is great for an all-day trip!Hike, mountain bike or horseback ride the park’s backcountry trails for spectacular views of lake and island scenery; spend a star-filled night in one of several primitive campsites; stroll along sandy beaches and take a dip in the lake’s salty waters or step back in time with a visit to the historic Fielding Garr Ranch. Antelope Island is home to free-ranging bison, mule deer, bighorn sheep, pronghorn (antelope), and many other desert animals. Millions of birds congregate along the shores surrounding the island, offering unparalleled opportunities for birding. Year-round Interpretive opportunities round out the Antelope Island experience.
One of our favorites! We recommend getting a reservation for this one.
One of our favorite new brunch spots!
A great sushi spot! Attached to Post Office, a bar. We recommend reservations for this spot if you're going for dinner.
A vibey place for a bite. Maddie used to eat here all the time when she was a Single Pringle, before catching a movie at Salt Lake Film Society.
An Ethiopian spot.
Pretty good Italian.
Yummy Chinese place. They have really good dim sum! Bonus - you can then walk to and wander around Under the Umbrella, a great bookstore that highlights LGBTQ+ authors and stories.
You'll want to do the following: Sugar House Coffee, then go to The Village Vintage Interiors and The Central Book Exchange.
You'll want to hit up Loki Coffee, then go to Chubby Baker, Strawberry Mansion, The Legendarium, and Lovebound Library. Chubby Baker was voted Best Donuts in Salt Lake last year! Maddie's favorite is the Brown Butter donut, and Jeremy loves the Hot Guava donut.
You'll start at Tulie Bakery, then head to The King's English Bookshop and The 15th Street Gallery. Grab a sandwich at Caputo's too.
We love this place for its fun Japanese-inspired vibe and good bites!
Super fun rooftop vibes!
Fun arcade game-themed bar.
For our RHOSLC fans.
Also for the RHOSLC girlies. Watch some burlesque and sip on a fancy cocktail.
Great burgers, some games, and you'll get to see Utah’s weird alcohol laws in action because the bar and restaurant are separate buildings!
One of our favorite bars that we frequent when seeing shows downtown.
They have a nice selection of beers on tap here. Maddie likes their Lemonade Stand variety. Plentiful outdoor patio seating if that's of interest. They'll have a food truck out front if you want a bite to eat as well.
A buzzy new-ish spot downtown. We haven't been yet, but it's supposed to be very ~fancy~. It's in a revamped train depot and meant to feel like you're in a train's lounge car. It's also located amongst other restaurants and a hotel in the same depot. Bonus - you can see if a band is performing next door at The Depot, a cool concert venue, and make it a ~night~.
Highly recommend catching an old movie at SLFS and then going to get tacos at Monarca afterwards.
Love, love watching an IMAX movie about the birth of our universe and/or dinosaurs.
We haven't been here yet, but plan to. It looks like a lot of fun, and Maddie went to a similar one on a rainy day in Edinburgh, and it was dope.
A great drag bar. They have a drag brunch every Sunday - remember to support your local queen and bring some cash.
Attend the downtown Farmer’s Market in Pioneer Park: Saturdays from 8am – 2pm. Crafts, local produce/eats, and live music. If you go on October 18th, you’ll be attending the second-to-last market of the year.
Looks like the comedian performing 10/18 is Casey Rocket
We did this for our fifth anniversary and really enjoyed the experience and tea.
Fun dueling piano bar!
