The first night we were in Madison was kind of a train wreck. We had trouble with the flights, we didn't make it in time for dinner with the person we were supposed to meet from Trent's new company, we were hardly even able to get a rental car. We finally made it to the hotel and we both were frustrated almost to tears. We hadn't eaten all day, and we were getting a little snippy with each other. Thankfully, the person we were supposed to eat with was very understanding of our situation and recommended that we head over to the Tipsy Cow for dinner. This might sound dramatic, but I really feel like that meal turned the whole trip around. After bout 5 total hours in Wisconsin, we had already decided that it was our favorite restaurant. That has held true- it still is our favorite and I doubt we'll ever stop hyping it up!
It's no secret that we are both huge dweebs who love all things board games and Dungeons and Dragons. Noble Knight Games is everything we could ever want in a game store. There is something for everybody, but just walking in the doors will make you smile. It is impossible not to have fun in there, but it's also nearly impossible to not leave with something- bring your wallet and make sure you have room in your checked bag if you're flying!
Saturday mornings on the square are so fun and lively, and you're bound to find the best of the best of Wisconsin cheese curds! Walk around for awhile if you have the time and feel the love and pride the locals have for their city. We were very quickly converted into tried and true Wisconsinites after the first time we went. If you want recommendations for booths to look out for, we're happy to send over a list.
Greenway station is one of our favorites, not only because we live right across from it, but also because of all the trails and bike paths around. If you want to take a walk around the area, this is a great place to start. And if you're already there, you should probably (definitely) go try Ancho & Agave, Fuji Sushi and Hibachi, or Biaggi's.
