Go to a Show at The Root Note
This is far and away Bailey's favorite place in La Crosse... possibly the entire driftless region. The Root Note is a coffeeshop, music venue, and bar all rolled into one.
Go to a show at the Great River Shakespeare Festival
This is a really big deal, in Winona, as well as the entire region! Many of the shows during the time you'll be in town are preview shows, or pay-what-you-Will, so you get to name the price! The fest includes tons of outdoor concerts on the green at Winona State University and is a really glorious event to experience!
Float the Root River
Tube, kayak, and canoe rentals available for the river. Bike rentals available for the trail. Lanesboro is a kitschy, touristy little town that's worth checking out.
Pizza on the Farm at Suncrest Garden
Fresh. Local. Wood-fired! This farm is gorgeous and filled with fun opportunities for old and young alike. We have kid-friends that live here-- and sell snow cones! It's well worth a visit!
Blue Heron Coffeehouse
Bailey's favorite spot for coffee & local, organic food in Winona.
The Shed
This bar/neighborhood restaurant is a few blocks from the school Bailey works in...which is very, very convenient somedays! Children welcome.
Minnesota Marine Art Museum
This gorgeous art museum is right along the Mississippi. Its artwork is world-class and its exhibits are amazing.
Treasures Under Sugar Loaf
This giant antique store is housed in an old brewery, so part of the structure is actually built into a cave. I've yet to see it with my own eyes, but you and Bailey's mom should probably go check it out :)
