6:30 pm - 10:00 pm
We anticipate this will be a day when some guests begin filtering into the festivities and establishing our weekend tent city! While that's happening, there will also be.... 6:30pm The Local's Potluck This is our opportunity to include all of our beloved valley neighbors--and we have a lot of them!-- in our otherwise small and intimate wedding hubbub. We will be moving our weekly potluck to the night of the solstice in order to celebrate our community, our place within it, and the longest day of the year! NON-LOCAL GUESTS ALSO WELCOME!! 8pm Valley-ball at Wiscoy Co-op* Just 3 miles down the road there is another land coop that hosts a weekly sand VB game under the lights all summer long. All are welcome to join in, regardless of skill level! ??pm Bonfire at Zephyr* Settle in, get to know your tent neighbors/our actual neighbors, and enjoy the lingering lit sky. *Weather-permitting

Comfy & casual
Seeing the sights along the Mississippi River and its backwaters on this boat is one of our absolute favorite activities in the area!! We've rented the whole thing so we can have a party of our own on the river, as a wedding kick-off party! The boat will be making a stop at the Dam Saloon, a floating bar full of character(s) on the Wisconsin side of the river. It then travels down the backwaters and offers views of Winona's eye-catching houseboat communities. All are welcome to BYOB onto the boat and we'll provide pizza for the ride! Snacks/soda is available for purchase from the boat's snack bar. Ideal party capacity is 50 folks. If you'd like to attend, please contact us to reserve your spot. We've got a facebook event page going for it, too: https://www.facebook.com/events/139231213408522/ Address above is an ideal place to park-- just walk toward the river from there and you'll see the dock. http://winonatourboat.com/

Salute the sun and new beginnings! Caroline will lead us. (Thank you, Caro!)

Attire should be comfortable, casual, and camp-able. Chacos and flannels are encouraged ; )
Our goal is to keep this ceremony intimate, short, and super sweet. The event will be held on a nearby hilltop overlooking the valley where we live, so it will require a quick uphill trek on a mowed trail*. We'll have straw bales available and blankets spread out for you to sit on. Feel free to bring along your comfy camp chair if you'd prefer. Those of you adventuresome folk are welcome to keep hiking further uphill to get a birds' eye view of the ceremony atop one of the rare goat prairies beyond the asparagus patch, as well! The ceremony will be followed by lawn games and time to do any last minute potluck dish preparations. *If mobility is an issue for you, please let us know. We will have a plan to get you up there, too!

In the true spirit of the valley in which we live, our reception meal will be a potluck. We will provide the main dish. You are encouraged to bring a dish to share! We hope you will find this idea to be fun, rather than stressful. If you are traveling a distance in a very short timeframe, please do not worry about bringing a dish to pass--you have enough to coordinate! The meal will be followed by fun : ) Helpful Potluck Hints: *Some fridge and freezer space will available to stash some food prior to the feast. *Kitchen space will be available throughout the weekend for on-site preparations. We suggest you opt for a dish that doesn't require much attention the day of. *We applaud you if you choose to make your dish edible to more eaters! Many folks attending have special dietary needs (vegetarian/vegan, gluten/dairy-free, all-of-the-above). *Please label your dish and include ingredients. *Some large bowls, pots, pans, and serving utensils will be available for use.
10:00 am - 11:30 am
Wake up campers! (But not too early...) We'll have coffee & bloodies at the ready. If you have to take off early, we'll send you on your way with your breakfast to-go!
