Back in the summer of 2018, Calvin wanted to catch up with his cousin Ingrid over lunch. At the time she was living in an apartment in Irvine, CA and asked to bring her roommates along. Calvin agreed - not knowing that this would lead to the moment he would get to meet Jeannie. Jeannie had recently moved from the Bay Area to Orange County, and Calvin was working in Irvine. Jeannie admired Calvin’s willingness to help others from the start, especially when he helped her meticulously untangle a massive heap of clothes-hangers after moving into the new apartment. She was intrigued and wanted to get to know him better, so she made the ultimate first move - adding him on Facebook ;) Calvin started to visit the apartment more and more often, and wanted to spend time with Jeannie. The two connected over group movie outings, homemade Korean barbeque, and game nights. As they grew closer, Calvin worked up the courage to ask out Jeannie on a date, where she tried oysters for the first time. This marked the beginning of three years of love, growth, and adventure. In June of 2021 with the help of Jeannie’s friends, Calvin surprised Jeannie with a proposal at the lake where they first confessed their feelings for one another - and she said YES!
