Detroit Riverfront
Walk along the Detroit river at the city edge for some beautiful views along the 3.5 mile path. See Canada just across the water. Includes multiple parks, plazas, monuments, and amphitheaters. Don't miss walking around the inside of the Renaissance Center, the General Motors Headquarters.
Detroit Institute of Arts
Ranked as the best art museum in the country last year. Tickets can be purchased in advance, they are always free for members and residents of Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties. OPERATING HOURS Friday 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. Saturday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Sunday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Belle Isle
985-acre island park located in the Detroit River near downtown Detroit. Includes the Belle Isle Aquarium, Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory, Dossin Great Lakes Museum, Belle Isle Nature Center, James Scott Memorial Fountain, Oudolf Garden, athletic fields, golf course, and Sunset Point on the isle's western edge. Jared believes that Sunset Point is one of the best views of the city.
Motown Museum
For fans of the Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, or the Supremes among others. Explore the original buildings where Motown Records was founded, including Berry Gordy's apartment, the legendary Studio A, and the control room. Tickets are first come first served for guided tour to visit "Hitsville USA". OPERATING HOURS Friday: 10am-6pm Saturday: 10am-8pm Sunday: 10am-6pm
Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation
A short drive outside of the city of Detroit. Has a vast collection of artifacts and exhibits showcasing American history, culture, and innovation. The museum also includes the Ford Rouge Factory Tour. OPERATING HOURS 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m

Day Trip to Canada
For the international traveler who wants to run across for some maple syrup. The only place where you need to drive south to cross into Canada. If you make the wrong turn you may end up here accidentally anyways. Passport required.
