Things To Do

Here are a few of our favourite places in the area if you fancy a bit of exploring...

Docton Mill Gardens & Tea Rooms

Lymebridge, Hartland, England EX39 6EA, United Kingdom

Situated in a fifteenth century water mill, Docton Mill is a hidden gem. Explore the beautiful gardens and ponds before indulging in a crab sandwich AND a Devon cream tea. Perfect!

Bude

Bude, England EX23, United Kingdom

If you're after a traditional English seaside resort then this is for you! Popular with surfers and holiday makers Bude has a large sandy beach perfect for long walks, basking in the sunshine, or building sandcastles. Make sure to check out the canal leading straight into the sea and its 'sea swimming pool' that fills up with the tide and is rumoured to have a giant lobster living at the bottom! And, for those wanting a bit of nightlife, there are some banging pubs and clubs - shabba!

Boscastle

Boscastle, England PL35, United Kingdom

If you fancy a traditional Cornish fishing village with Norman roots and local folklore about witches thrown in, then Boscastle is the place to be. A very narrow valley leads down into a natural harbour where day boats still go out for their daily catch, which can be sampled in the many local cafes and restaurants. Crab sandwiches are recommended. The witches museum is located at the bottom of the village and is worth a visit - park your broomsticks at the door!

Tintagel Castle

Castle Road, England PL34 0HE, United Kingdom

Explore the legend of King Arthur and the Sword in the Stone at Tintagel, a medieval castle perched on spectacular cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Have a look around Merlin's Cave and be sure to bring your swimming costume, so you can enjoy a dip in the sea by the waterfall!

Port Isaac

Port Isaac, England PL29, United Kingdom

If you're a fan of the TV show 'Doc Martin' then spend some time down in Port Isaac on the rugged north Cornish coast and check out the real life set. Plus, in the village you can find Restaurant Nathan Outlaw, which has 2 Michelin stars and was recently voted the 'Best Restaurant in the UK 2018' by the Good Food Guide. Definitely worth checking out!

Eden Project

Watering Lane Nurseries Lobb's Shop, England PL26 6BE, United Kingdom

On the south Cornish coast, the Eden Project is nestled in the huge crater of a reclaimed clay pit. It has massive Biomes that house the largest rainforest in captivity, contemporary gardens, as well as hosting exhibitions and summer concerts. If the plants aren't enough of a draw and you're looking for a bigger thrill, then you can check out the longest and fastest zip wire in England located in the grounds of the project!
