Things To Do

One of our favorite things about Basin Harbor is that all of the wedding festivities will take place on the property. July is a beautiful time in Vermont, and Basin Harbor has some of the most beautiful views sitting on Lake Champlain, overlooking the Adirondack mountains. Our vision is for our friends and family to take over the resort for a memorable time together. The resort offers a ton of activities, including biking, tennis, waterfront access to Lake Champlain, and nearby golf. We know having our wedding on a Monday is a bit out of the norm and can be an inconvenience, but we had to work with what we were handed due to COVID-19. So we encourage you to make a long weekend out of it and spend time in Burlington, VT for the weekend before and join us for Welcome Cocktails Sunday evening to kick it all off! If you are able to spend time in Burlington prior to the wedding, there are a few of our recommendations.
Zero Gravity Brewery

Zero Gravity Brewery

One of our favorite breweries in Burlington (among many others). It offers indoor and outdoor seating close to downtown Burlington. AND they also provide POPCORN for those LeFevre popcorn lovers.

Shelburne Vineyard

Shelburne Vineyard

6308 Shelburne Road, Shelburne, VT 05482
, (802) 985-8222

Fun winery with some great white wines - perfect for July! Right between Burlington and Vergennes for those who don't want to go all the way into downtown.

Fiddlehead Brewing Company

Fiddlehead Brewing Company

6305 Shelburne Road, Shelburne, VT 05482
, (802) 399-2994

Another great brewery with quite the following (one of Andrew's favorites) - it also happens to be attached to a yummy pizza shop!

Goodies Snack Bar

6035 Vermont 17, Vergennes, VT 05491
, (802) 759-2276

While not an activity, Goodies is a Kaufman family favorite. About 20 minutes from Basin, it's worth a stop If you're looking for a quick bite or some ice cream. We highly recommend it. We don't recommend getting anything bigger than a medium though...

Spirit of Ethan Allen

1 College Street, Burlington, VT 05401
, (802) 862-8300

An enjoyable boat cruise on Lake Champlain. If you haven't been to Burlington before, this is a great trip out on the lake with views of both the Green Mountains and the Adirondacks.

Church Street Marketplace

Burlington, VT 05401

Tons of shops and restaurants to wander through.

Camels Hump

Huntington, VT 05462

A great hike for those of you who want to get outdoors a bit more. One of our favorites! (About 2 - 2.5 hours up, so don't miss the wedding.)

Mount Philo

Charlotte, VT 05445

Mount Philo is close to Basin Harbor and Fiddlehead Brewery, located between Burlington and Basin Harbor. It's a short (30 min or so) hike up the trail, or a quick drive up the mountain road. Offering great views of Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks, it's a quick and easy hike.

Button Bay State Park

Button Bay State Park, Ferrisburgh, VT 05491

A waterfront campground next to Basin Harbor. A great spot to walk or sit on the water if you're looking for a change of pace and a break from the action.
