James and I first met at Shula's steakhouse where I was hired as a server. James had been working at Shula's on and off since high school and he was working there full time when I started in August 2017. My first impression of James was how warm and inviting he was. I felt drawn to him and I quickly found myself excited for the days that James and I were scheduled to work together. What I didn’t know at the time was that James already knew who I was. A few months before we met, James was at a gathering with one of my best friends, Chelsea. Chelsea and James met through work and he was asking Chelsea if she had any single friends that she could set him up with. She showed James a picture of me and James asked her if she could set us up. Unfortunately I was living in Norway at the time so the date would have to wait. After about a month and a half of working together, James found the courage to ask me on a date. We hit it off instantly and we both could tell that there was something special there. I think it’s a classic tale of he fell first, she fell harder. I knew I was in love with him after a month and a half of dating. I was so nervous to tell him how I felt but was so relieved when he said “I love you too.” Three months of knowing each other was all it took for us to find love, and less than a year later, we knew that we had found the person that we wanted to spend the rest of our life with. After many years of growing together and working on our career aspirations, we finally decided to take the next step to one of the biggest and best decisions of our lives. On November 18, 2023, James asked me to marry him. It will always be the easiest “yes” I will ever say in my lifetime. We are so excited to spend forever together and we cannot wait to celebrate the big day with all of our loved ones! We will cherish these memories for the rest of our lives. See you in June 2025!
